OK as promised, I would share again my guide on how I DIY apply my EPL namesets on to my jersey.

There is no magic secret on how to do it.. just that I use odd materials such as masking tape and I lay the jersey flat on the floor... So that my eyes can see from far.. how the alignment looks like...

This is an updated guide on how to apply the EPL Name and Numbers (NNs) & Patches on to your jersey.

When you have some nice EPL NNs and patches as shown below.. it's always more satisfying when you apply them yourself. Unlike the PU type NNs that are a bit risky to apply, lextra type namesets are safer and easier to apply.



The challenge here is to ensure that you apply the letters correctly using the proper template. If you don't have the official sporting ID template, you can DIY yourself the template like I did here:



Another thing to consider when applying the namesets, is to ensure that the position of certain letters like S and I are correct. You can accidentally place the letters I and S upside down:


If you are not sure, you can always check in the internet first (browse to photos shown in this forum or other sites)

Finally remember to set your iron to medium heat (2 dots) and use cloth when you want to press iron the numbers patches.

Here we go:

1. Lay your jersey flat on the ground:

2. This is not a recommended step (it is more optional), but if you want to arrange the letters nicely and closely, you can peel off the plastic film from the letters:



DO THIS CAREFULLY, don't over stretch them.. Sometimes you have to peel them off so it is more easier to arrange them (this is jerseyman's opinion.. if you don't agree then don't follow this step). Especially when you find certain letters and even the dot to apply and arrange later a bit tricky:



See for yourself.. how the dot and the plastic film is not centered.. so a bit hard to align later.. but it's up to you. So you can either skip this step or follow it..

3. So then later.. arrange the letters accordingly on to the jersey.. position it as wisely as you think.. There is no definite measurement on where to place them... it is up to your creativity.. use the template as a guide:



4. Once the letters are aligned nicely, use a masking tape to make sure they stick and are in order after you move your jersey to your ironing board:



Sometimes one long tape is enough... Or you can peel of small pieces of tapes and place them on top of the corner of all letters.

Then, only then you can remove the template:

5. Then move your jersey on top of the ironing board and start ironing the letters carefully. DO NOT IRON on top of the masking tape (this will cause a big headache later). So try to avoid ironing them (manoeuvre or move the iron carefully) and press on to the areas of the letters where there is no masking tape:



6. Then you can peel of the masking tape:



7. Then you can continue ironing the areas where the masking tape was previously placed:



8. Almost done:



9. To make the letter bond better and stronger, flip the jersey inside out (terbalikkan jersi):



Then iron press them:



10. Next step is to place the numbers. Align them properly using your creativity and put masking tape to align them and ensure they don't move when you take your jersey to the ironing board:



11. Then iron them.. Press for 5 seconds, then gently move the jersey around the plastic film surface. You can also use cloth to cover the plastic film to ensure the jersey is not ruined:



12. Then peel off the plastic film:



13. Looks nice right:

14. Flip again your jersey inside out and iron press beneath the area where the number sits:



15. Next step is to apply the EPL patches on the sleeves. Use the existing iron sleeve line on the sleeve to align the patch. For a good guide, place the patches 10 cm from the end of the sleeves:



16. Cover the patch with an old plastic film or cloth. Then iron press it for 10 seconds.. then circle iron on it for 30 seconds:



17. Finally peel of the plastic film of the patch carefully:



18. Tadaaaaaaa...



Things to remember:

- Ensure that you set the iron to medium heat (2 dots)
- Use plastic film or cloth to cover the letters/number/patches before you iron them (to be safe..)
- Do not iron on top of the masking tape
- Before you iron, you can check and re-adjust the letters that you've sticked with masking tape...
- You can spray some water on the letters/numbers/patches to enhance the bonding (some disagree with this)
- If you want to apply any badges on the sleeves of a jersey that has straight cutting/stitches (opposite to a raglan style jersey), here's the guide:

Nope, I think that is an authentic jersey... has the correct style code, colour code, correct washing tags and black nike security tag....

i think the seller misinformed about the season of jersey, that is 0708 jersey but seller said 0809. so in a way nimrod2 is right, that's not the design for 0809

but it is authentic.
