Ya fully agree, I only buy original charger and even batteries.
Btw there is a new charger coming out model BC-TRW If I'm not mistaken it is a rapid charger and will fully charge batteries in 90 mins instead of 150mins There is also another one model BC-QM1. It has a rapid charge button and can charge other size batteries other than NP-FW50 This post has been edited by idoblu: Dec 11 2013, 10:07 AM |

NP-FW50 The switching power supply is auto switch to select 240 or 110 V at the primary side at 50/60 cycles. the rest of the electronics are rated to run and deliver at the rated current output. That is elementary design of switching power supply consideration. Have you actually tested it on the field itself? I have yet to come across a switching power supply design that will drop power due to input / supply voltage. Do note that there are more 110V (AC) consumers out there than 240V that purchase these products.. most of these china made stuff are marketed to US. Care to share how those numbers came about? |

Based on the paper spec, it should works across 100-240. still the charger is working fine in m'sia. hence i suspect is the 3rd party charger is not working properly with lower supply (semi-faulty) Atm, i can't decide what is wrong until i'm able to test it out myself. *8 hrs for 20% = battery flat out to 20% in 8 hrs. QUOTE(moody5 @ Dec 11 2013, 03:17 PM) The power supply in Japan is 100 V at 50/60. The beauty of switching power supply unlike transformer type (apart from being heavy) is, it is very tolerant to supply fluctuation. Most design can go down to 80V(AC) in and frequency up high as 200 cycles and still work.. but i am not sure how is it going to affect the charging It will else kaput and die Most domestic type are auto-detect.. Only industrial type need a physical switch and those are usually very high current.. You desktop PC will also need a hard switch to select. What you need to find out is the output current of the charger.. That will give you a fair idea how long it will take to chage the battery (unless the battery about to be stuff). Rapid chargers has a limit to how fast it will do its job.. I will avoid them unless desperate for time. Cheaper to get more battery (cheap eough if OEM). The faster you charge the hotter the cells become and heat (high charging temperature) is not good for your battery. This is where you can get a fire should anything go wrong - gas released and the battery start to go out of shape (which you cannot see due to the hard casing). For fast charging, make sure it is a proper balance charger. Take care and be safe.. not funny if there is a fire indoor... I have experience it and will not forget the nasty experience even though I have taken all the necessary precautions. (ie I am not ignorant in this subject and still learning). |

QUOTE(moonmoon88 @ Dec 11 2013, 10:25 AM) but NP-FW50 battery is not long-lasting i would say. (no flash/no play-back for long period)2 full days = 3 battery require for JPG+RAW (very very little flash usage) during my trip to Korea. view via LCD. Turn off evf. so for a 2 weeks trip, charging is a muz, else the battery you need to take with you is QUOTE(NightFelix @ Dec 11 2013, 10:34 AM) Let you guys know tonight/tomorrow after I go ask feedback from my friend which going to reach KLIA tonight back from Hokkaido trip. let us know which 3rd party charger u use as well This post has been edited by sai86: Dec 11 2013, 10:41 AM |
