I had the lenovo p770. Amazing battry life that can last 3 days with whatsapp + calling on HSPA. It has 3500mAh battery.

p780 has 4000mAh. Imagine how the battery life would be! If a person looking for more than a day use, nexus5 is not for you.

using MX Player to play 2 anime MKV 720p and 1080p both hi10p.
720p hi10p played smooth
1080p played but slight lag. the lag is more noticeable when there are a lot going on on screen.
the reason I choose giffgaff is because for £12, you get unlimited (no quota) internet. All you can eat. seriously. on a mobile. Giffgaff sits onto O2 network, which is like one of the best network. O2, 3, Verizon are the top dogs here in UK, much like Maxis, Celcom and Digi.

In malaysia you have to be illegally registered into someone company to get Maxis's unlimited Enterprise package...
Okay, will do. any idea what kind of usage in mind? I have quite bad reception inside my house (not only O2, even 3 signal is lancau in the house... what kind of material i do not know) so any internet related will actually eat my battery much2 more than normal.

You guys can suggest what apps you want I will try to run it. Provide all is free apps.

Can you go MX player's settings and do this?1st-go to settings-decoder and change the core limit to 4 and color format to yuv? Theoretically that should improve playback performance. smile.gif

http://www.theverge.com/2013/11/4/5062724/...-nexus-5-review

the verge review is out

summary:
inconsistent battery
inconsistent + slow camera
chrome page buffereing issues
8/10 score

i have to disagree with their battery test, where they loop a video on full brightness till the phone dies. Different phones have different maximum brightness, it is no use comparing battery lifes between phones if u're comparing them at different brightness. I find the battery test where the set the phones to the same brightness to conduct the test more representative of their battery lives.

also, in the verge video review where they showed off the chrome stuttering issue, that is the first time the page gets loaded, and the reviewer scrolls past the bottom, and the screen becomes blank for a while before showing anything. What I think happens is: The browser have yet to load those parts of the page and is downloading data from the internet. I think if you want to test for scroll stutter, you will have to load everything beforehand and then scroll through them to check for stutters instead of checking on the first load where the page is still loading.

all in all, one of the first full review by a reknown site
albeit one that I thnk could have been better with the choice of words and methods

That review seems very rushed. Looks like need to wait for Anandtech's review for the nitty gritty details.

BTW,for the guys(gals) who already got the phone,how long does it take to charge from empty to full? smile.gif

I tested the HDR+ mode. It is very good when taking a picture with large contrast, similar to the example in that video.

#iVerge. Reviewing phones after a day. I'll stick to anandtech and arstechnica thank you.

From usb: 500mA, 2300mAh --> 2300/500 = 4 hours 36 minutes
From wall charger: 2000mA, 2300mAh --> 2300/2000 = 1 hour 9 minutes

There, I've just gave you a simple formula to calculate charging time of any phone. This is estimate only because charging rate will decrease as it approaches full capacity. More info: http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article...m_ion_batteries

Merge contacts (import from simcard) to your Google account. When the new phone arrive just sync with your Google account.
