Anyone know if I can install Unifitv set top box manually / by my own?

I just subscribed to Unifi Lite 100mbps without knowing it is no longer come with STB.

Now I am having problem to watch UnifiTV (my daughter love to watch cartoon channel and I also think cartoon channel provided is quite good as compared to astro). I tried to call TM if I can get STB somehow (maybe by subscribing ultimate pack or smtg), but they said, there is no way I can get STB anyomore since my package is not include STB, even if I subscribe to Ultimate.

Anyone can help me?

If yes, I can install manually as long as I have STB, who have extra? Can bagi me pinjam.

i doubt u will be able to access unifitv even u u get yr own STB.

more so now they dun give out STBs anymore to anyone.

that is, they expect new users to use the unifi playtv app only.

which means u hv no choice but to use the app only.

just find a right device that will work and display on tv for yr kid.

the app quality is NOT as good as the STB.

yep, and i think it means once all the existing warranties are over, they won't be any new STB, even if u want to buy as replacement.

But someone told me that actually they still offer STB to those who subscribe unifi, but it will come with ultimate pack, and u must only select upon online registration. If not, yeah, no STB for you at all.

Maybe it is time to petition that if they do not want to give STB, they must ensure that all channels are available in the app. At least ppl can still watch with Android box. Imagine you pay for ultimate or whatever pack, but some channel only can watch through STB. So TM do not give out STB and hence you cannot watch those channels, yet still paying the same pricing. Time to speak out now.

All FOX channels still available on STB. I watched it this morning.

those who uses the app to watch, i believe most is using mibox3 as an alternative to watch playtv. who watches playtv on the run/go on handphone or tablet.

*i'm one that is using a modded playtv app to be able to watch on my LED tv thru my mibox3.

oh I see, there are few channels not available from the apps, must be licencing that restricted not to be play from mobile I guess.

I can see Fox channels in my Nvidia Shield TV.

The app is currently available in Philipines, Singapore, Taiwan & Hong Kong.

Didn't check further. Should be same to those under Ruby pack Plus right since I use playtv@unifi tablet latest version.
