I apologize if I am asking an already answered question.

I just got my STB yesterday from having my streamyx upgraded to unifi. I hooked it up to my computer monitor as I have no television. The issue is that the video stutters.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-tOwiDaimI

Stuttering can be seen at 00:13. Stuttering happens very often both in fast and slow scenes. Does anyone know of any solutions to this problem of mine? Thanks!

I don't think that this issue will happen with Unifi TV (STB version) because it's changing its resolution according to your Internet speed (like the Unifi PlayTV app). smile.gif

Am I not on unifi TV? I have also tried, to no avail, all the resolutions ranging from 1080p 60hz down to 480p 50hz.

I have tested my internet speed with the Speedtest app when I am watching movies and it remains 30mbps download and 10mbps upload.

Everything is buttery smooth when I am watching through the playtv@unifi app so I don’t think the internet connection is the problem. Then again, I might be wrong.

Does it happened on all channels or only one particular channel?
Mine happened on Paramount Channel only.
Not sure what causes it.

If it happened to all the channels, maybe you can try cleaning the fiber cable and reseat the lan cable to the STB.

How do I clean the fiber cable? I might be wrong but I don't think it needs cleaning as everything *should be* new as it was only installed 2 days ago. The modem and STB are less than 48 hours old. But I will give it a try and use compressed gas to clean the LAN ports.

Sorry, what I meant was to clean the fiber connector tip.
If the installer accidentally touch the fiber connector tip during installation and didn’t clean it, the smudge might cause the problem.
No harm giving it a try.
If still encounter the problem, make a report to TM.

there are boxes and tv's that support unifi playtv and astrogo.

well known ones are current minix and himedia models.

others incl nvidia shield and mibox that run on andoridtv can as well.

4k tv's using androidtv platforms also can do.

some, u can install direct from playstore, it will work and auto update too.

others, u need get apk, sideload them, manually update versions if there is a need.

some other boxes, even unifitv STB - some people managed to do some work to make them work.

do search and read about them. e.g.

Hi guys

Need suggestions here

I’m currently subscribed to hypptv thru STB from Unifi. And i got another extra STB sitting around with no use.

So i’ve been thinking to utilize the extra one to make it work to watch it on my second floor TV. The original ones that comes with my package is hooked up to my first floor TV.

Is there any ways I can watch hypptv on 2 different STBs at the same time?

Thanks!

HyppTV everywhere is free. install the playtv app on your mobile phone, select forgot password, the user id is unifi user id@iptv, rest password thru sms / e-mail. You are good to go.
