Yes, it will because it will use the same line from your modem. But usually TM will set your downrates to 10Mbps and so your HyppTV will use the remaining 2Mbps.

I tested my DSL speed this morning and it was max 8.2mb only, did not check down rate readings within the modem will check later today. Trying to collect my STB tomorrow from TM point.

Am a 8mbps user, initially my hypptv subscription was RM160+platinum+sports=RM220 and later on upgrade to RM160+sports+mega=RM240 until today.
Imagine with this newly promotion how much am saved RM160+platinum+sports=RM190, a RM30 saving monthly or RM160+sports+mega=RM210, still saved me at RM30.

oh well  cry.gif

You can call them and asked for the promo. Although you will enter new 2 years binding contract with them though.
I did mine, previously was on VIP20+platinum pack =RM279, called them up and changed to VIP20+mega pack=RM249

so the hyppnourmous deal being extended till 31march2014 right ? not reaching their target for the promotion maybe...

the main stumbling block to subscribe to this promo for existing customer is the contract will be refreshed for 2 years.. why unifi so tamak to lock their existing customer for long period... just impose like 6 months contracts i think more reasonable.. still extra revenue for them (unifi) & more attaractive for existing customer who's contract expiring or expired to subscribe...

Simple , to get back their investment as much as possible . Ripping off ppl like me who don't require this crap tv but yet forced to . The new sales gimmick is bundling . The hypp by itself can't really move.

yet they're still the best in term of fibre optic broadband and coverage to consumer.... still, they want to lock customer for long period afraid of any competition emerging even tho the competition look like never beat them in term of coverage (abnxcess) and stability (maxis home iptv)...

Which is kinda weird I think, since nothing about this on ABN's front (ABN also have KidsCo). But it seems that MioTV in Singapore already drop the channel?

A sales person called to offer Hypp TV for free with my Streamyx 8Mbps line so I accepted it. May I know if it is possible to change the package, from Platinum to Ruby? BTW, has anyone actually cancelled their Astro subscription after getting Hypp TV? HyppTV news channels are terrible.

I am the one who cancel astro after I got my unifi hypp tv... with almost all shows available on internet via streaming, with my unifi, I don't see anything attractive anymore in astro...

One thing I noticed is my electric consumption dropped significantly.
Since I changed from Astro to HyppTV recently (one of the first to use HyppTV for Streamyx!), I don't have to pay a cent to TNB.
Thanks for the rebate for bills below RM 20 (at this time of post).
My normal electricity usage have not changed since then.
Probably the satellite dish is the big guzzler. hmm.gif

The less electricity consumption could also due to less interesting programme via HyppTV compares to Astro ... rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif biggrin.gif. In my case, I think I really spend less time on tv these days.. But, as streaming becomes fatster with unlimited data via Unifi, I spend more time on my tablet and notebook... so, more or less the same.. brows.gif
