now i in process upgrade to 8m. for my place only have streamyx and support to 8m . may i know hypp tv picture quality in streamyx 8m it is same with unifi hypp tv ???
*
I think for Streamyx the case is YMMV. Since Streamyx is based on ADSL2+/VDSL technology, the line speed is best effort instead of guaranteed. So depending on your line quality, HyppTV may look worse compared to UniFi. Also, HD channels may not be as clear because again, it's up to your line quality.

Then TM have to amend their promotional template what is categorized under VOD and Live TV. They advertised 833 is a bundled channel together with Platinum but the real is in VOD under Platinum Pack. Searching under FAQ yes they shifted channels 800 to their VOD started from April 2013.
*
It might be depending on the decoder. I'm using the old decoder and entering 833 on the control automatically redirects to the VOD page.

Btw, HyppTV now has a iOS and Android app for watching live channels on the go. They're getting serious in competing with Assteruk!

Hi. I have Hypp Tv with Unifi 5mb. I live in Puchong. My hypptv is connected using a TP-LINK TL-WPA281. My hypptv lags. It gets stuck every 3 mins or so. Why is this happening? Is it because of my hypptv is connected wirelessly or are all of you having hypptv having the same problem?

Your help is very much appreciated in advanced. If i posted at the wrong thread, pls redirect me.
*
New or old decoder? You using wireless bridge? I suspect maybe your wireless in your area not stable? Try using cable and see if got problems.

HyppTV for streamyx users, for your infos, got this from HyppTV page in facebook:-

Hmmm... So streamyx users will not have shared bandwidth like Unifi. Makes sense, given that it's not possible to implement VLAN over DSL- Never heard of people stacking VLAN on top of DSL before. Still, better than needing to wait two years for the goddamn service to reach your area... If I had the option, I'd have gotten HyppTV over Streamyx first while waiting for UniFi.

Afaik, free channels will always be available, at least on UniFi. If you don't take platinum pack or paid channels, you still can access the free channels.

For that, I blame the "eat football, sleep football" mentality of most Malaysians. Seems like other sports like F1, Basketball and even boxing no longer popular.

Personally, I prefer basketball. Never liked football, especially since I suffer from the condition known as kaki bangku kronik.

Also, I blame the monopoly rights gomen give Assteruk.

Be warned that we will be getting the "Anak tiri" treatment.
*
Of course laa Anak tiri treatment. Assteruk can choose to block HyppTV viewers out because it's their channel and the gomen monopoly policy give them the power to, just like how gomen monopoly policy blocks other company who want to do Satellite DTV from launching. Assteruk still want to protect their business as much as they can.

Only way out of this is if TM drop assteruk and go straight for the real Supersport (Notice how Starhub's Supersport doesn't have the assteruk branding. I think that's the real Supersport). But for some reason they don't want to.

Anyone here tried HyppTV Everywhere?
*
I have used the app on iPad.

My complaint is that not all channels are available, and it has a requirement of at least 512kbps to work (meaning that if I get only EDGE connection speed because the area has no 3G, I'm hosed). Aside from that, it's quite good. Hopefully TM will make other channels available.

QUOTE(Angel of Deth @ Sep 30 2013, 09:01 AM)
HyypTV definitely on the rise. Are they partnered with TM or operating as separate entity?

They're owned by TM.

QUOTE(chokia @ Feb 8 2014, 01:07 PM)
You need homeplug
*
Four ways to settle this:
- Long ethernet cable. Can also use an unmanaged switch plugged into the IPTV LAN port on the router if you feel adventurous (I tried it, it works). So you can split the IPTV LAN port all over the house with some additional cabling using a cheapo 5-port 10/100 switch. If you're feeling even more adventurous, spend one weekend with an AP plugged into the IPTV port and the IPTV box plugged into a WiFi bridge (theoretically, for both AP and bridge, set static IP in a different netmask range than the IPTV box should work. This is to ensure that both AP and WiFi bridge won't interfere with TM's DHCP server, and theoretically the IPTV box will connect to TM network normally and the bridge and AP will just blindly bridge the connection allowing the IPTV box to connect to DHCP server at TM and get set up).
- Homeplug
- ye olde HDMI Extender
- HyppTV Anywhere for Android + Android IPTV box.

Anyone is using homeplug to watch hypptv? I just bought one TPLINK powerlink and the video is lagged and slow.

Wonder why this happened.
*
Homeplug speed is largely due to house electricity wiring and stability of the power in your area. If the wiring is old or not properly done or the electricity in your area not stable, then quality will be degraded. This is why I don't trust homeplug (aside from the side risk of lightning strike destroying the LAN port as well) and rather haphazardly run a long ethernet cable.

I know. But the issue is, it is from 1st floor bedroom to living hall at ground floor. The cable has to lay along the floor which is impossible.

Any alternative like using wireless extender?
*
Well, as I said earlier, there is a theory I am working on using a WiFi AP and Bridge, but I need to perform experiment on it first before I can confirm that it works. I already have all the necessary devices tho- just need to get around doing the experiment and will give you feedback once I have an idea of whether it works or not.

HYPPTV better coz got many HD channels, NJOI got none and cant even use HDMI cable
*
+1. Assteruk is just that bad that they don't know how to move with the times. You can deny people from accessing HD channels, but HDMI is now a required connection and should be made usable from the start even if the subscriber only wants SD channels.

QUOTE(gunners_my @ Feb 15 2014, 09:57 AM)
I am facing the same probs.. but, at least they rebated my 1st month (pro rate), and I am still waiting for my 2nd month bill.. meanwhile, after I lodged my complain,  they did modify my bundles... from what I seen, after modification, my monthly payment was fixed at rm199, rather than rm199+rm50...so, morale of the story is... go whack them kawkaw.. I even threatened wanna brought this case to the media..
*
TM accountants are real clowns. One wonders if they even passed SPM, since they don't know how to bill people. Although I don't have billing problem so much as problem with autopay. One time they didn't charge me for two months then one shot hentam me RM750++ on the third month. Hence I have cancelled autopay and chosen to pay manually each month.

QUOTE(venven81 @ Feb 16 2014, 11:48 AM)
what's Hypptv charges per month to enjoy watching good HD channels? i doubt it's cheap compared to many IPTV boxes in the market that offer much better and more channels in my opinion
*
Well, according to the list, most good HD channels cost RM6 to RM9 per month (yes, it's ala-carte like what people always wished for - you pay per channel). Or you could just take advantage of the platinum pack and pay RM30 per month which covers most good channels, including HD ones.

Of course, Travel HD is a good channel, and its free... So TM gives subscribers one good channel out of the box already thumbup.gif

1. Yes. Hypptv has HD channel so HDMI connection is needed.

2. Computer you need some kind of video capturing device/ card, HDMI Splitter (optional if the device has it) and HDCP stripper

Once you successfully setup (2) then you can broadcast via youtube live/ twitch.tv so that your ipad can watch.
*
Anyone has access to a Slingbox? Wondering if you pass the HyppTV box to SlingBox without HDCP stripper, will the HDCP block the SlingBox from relaying the channel?

I think it's still available. And the HD channels if I'm not mistaken are downscaled to SD on Streamyx HyppTV. But best to confirm with TM.

you are wrong, I am on streamyx 4MB package and I do receive all the HD channels in the package..however, the only downside is loading can take a little bit longer, that's all
*
Well, as I said, a possibility could be that the HD channel is there, just that Screamyx users get a version that is resampled to ED (SD resolution but widescreen). Or it could be using adaptive bitrate and the resolution is based on network speed.

want to ask can use rewind, pause and fast forward button while watching catchup programme in hypptv?
*
Mandarin dubbed is very strange since this is a HK channel. Have you tried the audio select button? Those actually work on some channels.

QUOTE(sky3742 @ Feb 26 2014, 12:42 PM)
so can't use these button?
I thought that rtl cbs entertainment got catchup too?
*
As the FAQ said, you can, but only for the channels listed. Those channels will allow you to rewind two hours max, and only those channels allow you to pause. Other channels like CBeebies and BBCE has no timeshift function.

RTL-CBS, not sure, not subscribed to it. My main reason for HyppTV is the BBC channels.
