The anti shatter film is said to be scratchable but I am indeed very impressed with it. I was daily using a ballpen with it extensively replacing my finger ( tapping launching app, writing using keyboard, scrolling in browser and moving among homescreens/app drawers etc) and in past 14 days I have yet to see even a single hairline scratch
I just put on a Niilkin SP only yesterday
But I do read at least 2 users here who had reported scratches even on first few days usage !!!

Putting the XZU in the pocket together with the keys and coins should not be considered since it's more or less the problem of the individual user.
Anyway, 2 weeks of ballpen usage without and scratches are very much acceptable. In other words, can do away with the SP.
What was the reason for your SP Uncle? Thought you were not a fan of SP.

Mind telling if the additional SP you just put on will affect the screen sensitivity including causing double-tapping issues, etc. as mentioned by forumers before. TQ.

No such issues at all ( with finger, pencil ) . Except only now with ballpen, scrolling is less smooth and less sensitive to tap by it. Writing with ballpen is now even worse and I'd say is hopeless. Writing with pencil is still Ok as before

Thanks for the clarification, Uncle. Gave me confidence to place additional SP on mine also. Safer that way to protect the anti-shatter sheet. biggrin.gif

ive been using the XZU with normal SP for a week++ now. no sensitivity issues at all. I wont worry much about putting an SP on. Better u get a less 'feel' screen rather than a scratched one. Unless u guys pamper the XZU like a gold slab. tongue.gif

Has anyone tried playing 720p and 1080p Hi10P videos on the ZU? I'm curious to see if the S800 finally has enough CPU grunt for smooth software decoding of Hi10P files.

Dedicated Audio chip is present. It just isn't from Sony. All snapdragon 800 has a built in 5.1 surround sound for the headset made by some supposedly big deal company.

Any one with ZU can comment on the music quality via headphones?  I usually find tegra like on the previous Sony tablet make a better sound than Qualcomm

hmm looks like my search continues...it's ok..my main phone still functioning anyway, not in a hurry to upgrade tongue.gif

good question, i wouldnt say my xzu is scratched badly, but if you see closely under the lights, you see those hairline scratches that can't be wipe away. I'm really disappointed with the AS sheet.

i am using IEM Klipsch S3, Bassbuds, A-Jays Four.
and comparing to my iphone. there's something that didn't sound good on the ZU.
tho. those are iPhone Optimized IEMs.

EDIT: and honestly. clear audio just increase the treble.
it would be great if u had beats headset. since beats focused on bass

@uncle benny - what type of pen are you using to make it able to be detected? I understand from the videos that the common plastic ones dont work? Point down or retracted?

Good points there, but to be frank if the XZU was 5.5"-6", I would not even bother considering it.

+1 - My main motivation for buying it is the screen size.

As such I'm not even considering the puny Note 3 or HTC One max.
