QUOTE(benny888 @ Aug 14 2013, 11:56 AM) Another phablet ( Asus Fonepad Note FHD 6, 6 " display) hitting Malaysian shores soon according to Lowyat Chapree: http://www.lowyat.net/2013/08/14/11491/asu...-malaysia-soon/Comparison of the XZU with it : http://www.phonesreview.co.uk/2013/07/16/s...pad-note-fhd-6/Uncle, the Fonepad uses Intel Atom SoC right? any personal experience using any Intel based android phones before? skimmed a few articles on the net previously saying some apps dont work well with early intel chips..

QUOTE(iAlien @ Aug 14 2013, 02:58 PM) holy ffff, its true! this ain't making any sense that void warranty! Maybe we can check with local sony warranty policy regarding the XZU ASF.. maybe different region different policy? or the one Unlce Benny posted is from local Sony SC response? Anyways, if so, lets hope changing the ASF wont cost more than RM50 if its true~ No point buying the device, remove ASF and lose sony logo.. we paid a hefty amount for the 'brand-name' This post has been edited by Fasap: Aug 14 2013, 03:19 PM

QUOTE(joytest @ Aug 14 2013, 03:18 PM) From the way videos and pics have been posted on how the ASF is removed, I don't think this can be applied by hand. One of the posts on the XDA thread mentioned that it came as a full assembly with the screen, and it's GBP 200 to replace the whole screen (for XZ, not XZU). I wouldn't expect any LESS than that for the XZU. Screen = 0.5times device price???? Make.Believe it man. It's a SONY And if so, Sony is one crazy P.O.S. company if we need to replace the whole screen just to replace the ASF. lol. Still, someone needs to clarify this with local SC... just to be safe. At least the owners here with scratched ASF can feel a bit better knowing so..

QUOTE(benny888 @ Aug 15 2013, 08:56 AM) ... Just accept this weakness if one wants to get this phone. Pointless to complain about it.... well said Uncle No use complaining now, just sell it off once Note 3 arrives, surely a lot of people in Garage Sales wants a piece of XZU later on.. If good sound functions were such a priority, one should just get HTC One with its superb beats audio and boomsound. It was an obvious choice imo. But then again, when XZU is marketed as a media consumption device, these basics like sound quality and speaker quality should've been Sony's priority to the least IMO. Bad decision indeed. QUOTE(gogo2 @ Aug 15 2013, 09:23 AM) it''ll be awesome to get bomb sound + xzu screen + Mega size + water resistant Haha.. good one! really true. One could only hope.. maybe XZU 2 later? Sony would have an instant classic if the XZU had: - on par sound qualities (speaker and headphone) of the HTC one, - on par stylus capabilities like note series, - a better camera with led flash. All these will silence most people in here . Those are the most complained about features from what ive seen here.

QUOTE(Superman7 @ Aug 15 2013, 09:35 AM) I guess they rushed on the release of the XZU.. even the X-Reality thinggy was also not implemented in the launch X-reality was not of a big game changer regardless if it were available at launch or not. The XZU display was already a huge improvement over the older xperias, and on par with the current market's best. but indeed, Sony rushed out the device to gain some early market ground before the Note 3 onslaught. Hence only Asian countries got hold of the HSPA+ versions before official worldwide release. Asia is after all samsung's home market and denying samsung some 3-5% market share is still quite a feat.

QUOTE(benny888 @ Aug 15 2013, 09:47 AM) would be my perfect ideal phablet. But than all manufacturers always never released the ideal phone - the improvements will only come in subsequent upgrade models. If all the top specs are available, how are they going to maintain their business growth ?? Note 3 - wonder what will be the deficiencies ? But if Note 3 were to carry on the Note 2 features and with improved display, processor, memory , stylus input etc - I'd say Note 3 seems looks like the ideal phablet. Only worry is Samsung DO NOT carryover the mistakes of S4 and packed it with unnecessary gimmicky added software ( which I'd say 30-40% of it is half baked n hopeless) and end up taking up valuable storage space One could only hope for a perfect phone. Be it HTC, Sony, Samsung etc. True that Uncle. Samsung has already a working formula for blockbuster smartphones and phablets. If it cuts down on its gimmicky-less-than-useful bloatware, and introduce premium build quality design (fire the current hardware designers!) to their phones like Sony and HTC, Samsung will be invincible. Let us see the Note 3 design, which they say might use metal? This post has been edited by Fasap: Aug 15 2013, 09:57 AM

ive been using the XZU with normal SP for a week++ now. no sensitivity issues at all. I wont worry much about putting an SP on. Better u get a less 'feel' screen rather than a scratched one. Unless u guys pamper the XZU like a gold slab.

the pen+pencil option for XZU is a bit gimmicky imo.. not worth the hassle to complain. Youre better of using your fingers or simple aftermarket stylus (can get for RM5 if not mistaken nowadays). Still it will make a good party trick to show off to friends.. not more than that This post has been edited by Fasap: Aug 15 2013, 03:22 PM

QUOTE(gti6165 @ Aug 15 2013, 04:18 PM) the thing is need to restart frequently. i just afraid it is hardware issue. should be network issue. i also use maxis. it happend to me last week. didnt bother that much because of holiday and was mostly on wifi all day. This week seems to be ok. no more "no data connection" issue. Like @iAlien said, better check with Maxis 1st. or better, try another sim from digi / celcom / umobile etc etc to check

Better put SP. but then again, depends on preference. I went naked initially..my front and back already have hairline scratches, but good thing its a white unit, so less than visible. the sony Anti-shatter films are total crap at protecting it from scratches. IMO, my Nilikin SP is just as nice, feel just like no SP when you have used it daily. For an RM 2K phone this is just a small sacrifice to pay to protect a 'prized' possession. ...unless you guys have the cash to buy off latest phone everytime a new one launch This post has been edited by Fasap: Aug 16 2013, 05:40 PM

QUOTE(icemessenger @ Aug 16 2013, 05:15 PM) ya, as my phone is naked now, i'm kinda scare to bring it around... haha LOL! indeed.. just be extra careful enuff already. If still paranoid, buy yourself SP and flip case ASAP. Satugadget.com has 2 types of cases for sale. RM39 each. I bought the Rock brand casing, there was another brand with multi color; black+orange, white+lime green, pink+yellow, and one more color i forgot.

QUOTE(Andrew_1980 @ Aug 16 2013, 05:50 PM) Love back casing more than flip casing Btw, should I just stick the Matte SP or stick SP+Back casing? Me too. But no choice now to protect . Using it until back cases come to the market later on, then change over. Why use Matte SP? severly downgrade the beautiful display worr..
