honestly in my opinion.
sony aims consumers like us to buy these phone.
meaning those who gonna use mainly for entertainment, work. and by entertainment. headphones,portable speakers , bluetooth headphones.
and not photography. even if there's LED flash on the phone. the cost will be slightly higher and made unaffordable for us Malaysians. on the other side, flash that is not xenon or anyother famous/good brand flash.
will surely doesn't have much different in pitch black situation.well thats my personal experience of course.
for the speaker. yes i am dissapointed as well.
but on the other hand. i liked it how the back part of the phone vibrates when you play a song on your phone.
it gives you the feeling that the phone has a really good speaker.
battery life. my own experience. it lasted for 2 days with out of the box configuration. well on standby of course.
ui lag. maybe you should turn on developer options. adjust the animations or turn it off completely and see whether that improves the ui

Let's see if the honami is as thin and has a better camera and is smaller and has a led flash..........

I carry 2 phones all the time , iP5 and XZU, for me Flash doesn't bother me at all.

All i want is One Phone is big Screen >6" and lighter like XZU...the only cons i found on this device is Lag of LTE..

Maybe XZU LTE version may never come to Malaysia

I'd say for most practical purposes, the LED flash is a non-issue since you shouldn't be taking any flash shots with a cameraphone in the dark anyway. If it's a night shot, perhaps something like a colorful place like Marina Bay or Shanghai's Bund will be feasible and WITHOUT flash. I took some nice pics with the Note 2 in Shanghai with no flash at all.

I agree on the LTE issue though. So as quite a number have speculated, the XZU 3G is probably a rush job. And screw the slimness for leaving out a flash and larger battery.

this debate...still this debate...u see.. thr's a reason why Sony decided not to put LED flash... do u hav any idea of the slimness of the phone? letme tell u..
the slimness of the phone make the phone manageable for 1 handed operation and the slimness srsly helps alot..
why do i say so..cuz i had jz apply rubber phone cover which had jz add a tiny bit of thickness to my phone..and trust me..when i say..its not like ultra anymore...it lost is slimness sexyness its operation all is afected jz by dat phone cover..

Tried again and still got frames drop on the video.. But I tried other video on YouTube, ok.. Why ahh....

I am streaming it n watch n didn't load video till finish.
Just now tested watching it outside in warong.
Now retested at home still using 3g
Video plays perfectly as before.  Btw i am using Boat browser n watching the video in this lowyat page itself

What happened oh , yesterday the bugger installed Matte SP but the screen become worst ( * FOC ... dont bother to complain )

guys to you experience over sensitive on the screen while scrolling up and down email? It feels like it double click it self... i was browsing up and down but sometimes it executes or open some files.... is it software issue?

I tried other browsers also same problem.

Sony's Xperia Z Ultra is a powerful phablet, but it's not as good as it could be. The poor camera, lack of a stylus and poor battery performance makes it not as good compared with the other phablets.

Look like many people just don't read phone specification, or just expect spoon fed. As for camera wise, you don't expect it out-perform nokia 808 or  i would say no problem with daily daylight requirement, but low night performance is weak, but again, it very much depend on one's expectation.

Just sharing a photo taken  during my trip to singapore late evening yesterday.

Been using the xzu for almost 2weeks now but honestly I am still not very impressed with it. This is the first sony smartphone ive ever used n this is my POV    :

The goods:
-Superb 6.5" 1080 display..a bit whitish when crank to full brightness
-Super sexy n super thin....top notch build quality..
-Camera seem to be very nice in good lighting.. The front cam is good as well
-Speedy fast phone..opening n closing apps good, multitasking good.
-Good battery life.. Am impressed with the power even with the big display

The bads:
-Super bad speaker..listening music, movies n youtube with loud speaker is a real nightmare for me! I reallyx3 hate the speaker!
-I will never wake up in the morning if I use this phone as my alarm clock!
-Using the headphones doesnt really help as well.. Till now I still cant find the right adjustments to suit my ears! Tuning to 8tracks with the headphones made my cry..haha
-Bad os overlay..very glitchy at times if u put widgets on the homescreens
-Dont take pictures at night! Just memorize the moment! Lol!
-The pencil feature thing is a useless crap
-Hate the usb port n headset jack location..shud be on top or bottom instead of the sides

For now, im starting to miss my mighty note 2 already..
This is my personal POV n im just an average user..no bashing please..just feel like sharing...

The softer speaker is due to the extra membrane to have it waterproof.  Just accept this weakness if one wants to get this phone.  Pointless to complain about it.  It is better than XZ but worser than tablet XZ.

No use complaining now, just sell it off once Note 3 arrives, surely a lot of people in Garage Sales wants a piece of XZU later on..

If good sound functions were such a priority, one should just get HTC One with its superb beats audio and boomsound. It was an obvious choice imo.

But when its marketed as a media consumption device, these basics like sound quality and speaker quality shouldve been Sony's priority to the least, IMO.
