oplotot, starting at RM 2500++, no matter how long u have been working, except you got Master degree. I am a reserve candidate (mean got to go to interview without exam). The pull is, i didn't got the job coz I have no 'cable' inside JPA,SPA bla bla bla. I honestly asked the datin that interview me. She said I am qualified but not enough credit (what is that?). My first interview was on Nov 2006.

u judge it.

how did u get to be a reserve candidate? I thought everyone has to attend the exams prior to interview session.

Well, that's I didn't even know why. Maybe there's flaw in their system or something because I got my first interview during my final semester in university rclxms.gif
Even the interviewer got shocked when they notice that I came into the interview without a certificate!

So then maybe they put me on waiting list kot..hehe

Anyway, my advise if you wanted to get the job, wait until end of 2009. I got few friends (in PTD) and they all are contracted (1 year) till end of this year. This is internal information. I'll post whenever there is the need for new staff in gov.

my dad was a PTD since 76 start with m41, then climb m45 (masters) m48 m52...

in 2001 managed to cvlimb to JUSA c 2004 jusa b and 2007 jusa A,

PTD was indeed a dream position for me as well, but seeing wut my dad position and responsibilities now... its not something "easy" as other government sector position.

PTD is not for somebody who thinks masuk gomen can goyang kaki...can if u want to stay at the same gred forever...but to climb u need to perform..

and to climb to the higher level JUSA is super hard. but he only managed to be there after 25 years sertvice with gohmen.
c here ..is not easy to climb yet the pay is not that great anyway... being jusa A... basic only 6-7K+ (but allowance...wohooo... bigger than basic lar)

but the point is here..please do not waste other ppl opportunity if u think of being a PTD but just want to shaker ur @$s... please be a better PTD officer and do what u supposed to do...serve the country and "us" the ppl.

i found this in skor caree page;

The examination will be divided into 5 sections, namely:

Section A: General knowledge about Malaysia
Section B: Problem solving skill
Section C: Essay comprehension and understanding
Section D: Malay essay writing
Section E: English essay writing
Section A: General knowledge about Malaysia

Time: 45 minutes, Number of questions: 60, Mark: 30

Candidates will be asked about the general knowledge about the Malaysia government and administration, together with other elements that include politic, economy, social, science, technology, literature, art, music, sports and others especially those which are related to the country affairs. With that being said, it is almost impossible to suggest you any particular reading to prepare as your ability to answer the related questions rely much on your current knowledge. As a tip, those who keep themselves abreast with the current happening through newspapers, television, history books and other media sources will find it easier to handle these questions.

Section B: Problem solving skill

Time: 45 minutes, No. of questions: 40, Mark:20

In this section, candidates will be required to utilize their logic, data interpretation and mathematics in solving the questions. For example, you may be given a series of statements or sentences and asked to verify which one of the statements is correct, according to the circumstances given.

As for the maths questions, you may, for example, be asked to calculate the amount of income tax someone needs to pay to LHDN according to the prevailing tax rates in Malaysia, under certain income conditions (as the rate of income tax is different for people with different income brackets).

Section C: Essay comprehension and understanding

Time: 35 minutes, No. of questions: 20, Mark:10

Candidates will be given 4 essays consisting of between 300 to 400 words each - 2 in Malay and 2 in English. For each essay, you will be given 5 questions to assess your comprehension level towards the essay. The Malay essay will be followed by questions in Malay language, and likewise, the English essay will be followed by English questions.

Section D/E: Malay & English essay writing

Time: 1 hour, No. of questions: pick 1 from 3 questions, Mark: 20

Candidates will be ask to write an essay, between 200-300 words from a few topics given, both in Malay and English (actually 200-300 words essay is a very short one so one hour is more than sufficient to brainstorm your ideas and complete an essay). The essay could be in the form of opinion or your views on certain issues. For example, you may be asked to write about the Electronic Labor Exchange (ELX) initiative - whether this would contribute towards solving the human capital shortage in this country, and so on.

HOPE THIS WILL BE HELPFUL...Good Luck!

I had itchy hands to apply the scheme back then just because most of my officemate were dying to get into it.

I passed the paper exam the first time I applied to SPA. I managed to pass the PAC right after that and went to interview which is the final stage. Everything was smooth for a first timer except I failed the interview. I was offered a second chance for the interview but I declined as I just landed a good post for my qualification in a GLC at the same time. Even the interviewer once stated that I am more suitable as an engineer rather than a PTD which I heard him saying in an unprovocative manner. Maybe he was being honest saying that I shouldn't become one and I am very thankful what I have become now.

Edited: You may track back my progress with the rest at the early page. It's like reading 'Back to the Past' , lol.

p/s: To those who applying PTD just for the sake of the attractive allowances, benefits and dreaming to be one of the elites, my advice is don't.

The job is for the people with guts, attitude and bold enough to carry the responsibility. And yeah even if you made your way into the scheme , you may one day realised this isn't for you.
