Hi Guys & Gals,

Where to get a good airbrush set? Is the Graffiti Toys selling good set or is better to buy from petaling street shops?

Hello,

Lately I've been dying to buy a compressor after trying to brush my kit and not very satisfied with the result.
But as a student I can't found a compressor cheaper than 500.

So when my brother went back to Jakarta, I asked him to buy me a compressor under 350 there.

and he got me a Nardi Silverstone 2 Compressor.

This is the link

I got it for 275RM. From the spec I think it's pretty cheap, but since I can't find any review of it, I don't know it noise level.

Anyway, I think if you had plan to go to Indonesia(Jakarta) make sure to stop by "Glodok" to find a slightly cheap compressor

u can go Vision Art in Sunway. It's one of the shops around One Academy. Ok...it's those shoplots next to Sunway Pyramid, nearby the police station there.

if not, try Hobby HQ...or go lelong those to check out

i believe hobbiescorner may stock paint. if not try msg2u.com or something like that. for local shops, you can try Hobby HQ in KL (Fraser Business Park). Hobby HQ has the most complete range of colors in KL at this point in time. Alternatively, try the toy shops in Berjaya Times Square.

These are for paints to be used on model kits, resin figures, etc. not for your usual metal stuff like grill, etc. those you can just buy from hardware shops. you won't want to buy a 10ml hobby paint that costs as much as a 100ml industrial paint to paint normal items. keep the hobby paints to hobby kits.

how in depth do you plan for this training? graphics use or hobby use? graphics use is much more complicated than your average joe trying to paint a model kit using airbrush. and if graphics use level...you may want to check out art schools like Lim Kok Wing, One Academy, etc. Although I believe airbrush is a dying art in design schools. Who needs brushes when u can photoshop like hell and then print out in color.

Frazer Business Park? Was it before the F&N Factory? opposite of it is Pudu English Secondary School?

it's the old F&N factory. They've changed it into office lots. That's Fraser Business Park. Hobby HQ is on the 1st floor. Ground floor is empty lot but beside it is a big red sign saying HILTI.

I wanna use it to repaint diecast toy cars, will it produce the acceptable results? Diecast cars are much smaller in size compared to Gundam figures, not sure whether it gives satisfactory results?
