hi sifus, i am very new to car...
i got a year2000 1.5A iswara aeroback...
recently got the "ngi ngek"sound from front when i:
1. pass through hump slowly
2. when accelerate from stationary(when the head lift up)
3. when going through some bumpy road slowly

my dad told me is some bushes worn off...but there is a lot bushes under the carriage...he say when wait till the sound serious only change...but it is too annoying for me to drive with the sound...

btw, some are the thing just changed last week...
engine mounting
absorber
and some of those thing was related to engine i guess...

sound coming from where first? try to identify where it is coming from...

can consider soft pushing/bumping your bumpers, headlamps, pushing down the car, try to re-simulate the source of the sound first.

Not good advice. If sound is coming from metal-to-metal contact means the bush already worn down to nothing and can affect handling if the bush is at critical parts like lower arm.

Go to a workshop and ask them to jack up the car and check the lower arm bushes and the rack end. These can affect the handling of your car. At least to confirm is not from those critical parts. The sound may be caused by harmless thing or could be serious, better check.

yeap i echo this.

i mentioned the items i did as from my experience my headlamp fitting isn't perfect, considering my car is modded to LMST from iswara. so there is some plastic rubbing sound.

lower arm is one thing, can also check on the stabilizer bar bushes, stabilizer links, tie rod and tie rod end (or rack end). etc

those are critical handling components and do produces sound if the bushes are worn to the metal parts without a doubt.

welp sad to report that the expensive nightbreaker plus only bring a tiny bit of improvements, maybe 10% brighter due to the crappy reflectors. damn.

for our car if got ngek nek sound from front probably your absorber worn out, how long has your front absorber been?

did you try settling your car and try to push your car see does the sound can be stimulated rather than while driving?

if the sound from the rear probably the axle screw loose...

Btw, Happy new year and long time no check-in! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Is your headlight reflector still in good condition or lost its chrome shine? Mine have faded when I compare with the 'mirror' like reflector of newer LMSTs. I am not sure if the chrome can be restored or have to replace the whole thing...

Bro, just want to ask, currently my proton iswara a/b 2002, when the aircond compressor run, I can heard come metal grinding sound, like metal hit metal like that, the more I rev the car, the more noticiable the sound can be heard. However, the sound gone after compressor not running. And one more, when the compressor kick in, my car dashboard going like to crash like that, like the compressor can shake my whole dashboard. Really annoying, but yet aircond very cool, car not feel underpowered when compressor kick in, Any sifu know any solution? All I want to settle is when compressor kick in, i dont want my dashboard shake, shake a bit is tolerable, but until whole dashboard going to crash like that is not tolerable. 2nd is what is the metal grinding sound? Thanks ><!

- air cond idle
- engine mounting
- consider changing compressor oil and perform vacuuming/gas refill

around/less than 4 or at most 5" diameter? non standard mounting at the rear plastic thing there near/under the c pillar at the trunk.

best is to ignore that, and install a decent component set speaker at the front doors smile.gif
