around/less than 4 or at most 5" diameter? non standard mounting at the rear plastic thing there near/under the c pillar at the trunk.

best is to ignore that, and install a decent component set speaker at the front doors smile.gif

Bro, just want to ask, currently my proton iswara a/b 2002, when the aircond compressor run, I can heard come metal grinding sound, like metal hit metal like that, the more I rev the car, the more noticiable the sound can be heard. However, the sound gone after compressor not running. And one more, when the compressor kick in, my car dashboard going like to crash like that, like the compressor can shake my whole dashboard. Really annoying, but yet aircond very cool, car not feel underpowered when compressor kick in, Any sifu know any solution? All I want to settle is when compressor kick in, i dont want my dashboard shake, shake a bit is tolerable, but until whole dashboard going to crash like that is not tolerable. 2nd is what is the metal grinding sound? Thanks ><!

Not sure if the dashboard vibration and the sound are from the same or different causes…

Have you checked the following?
1) When air-cond kick in and dashboard vibrates violently, how much the engine rpm dropped ?
2) Open the bonnet and try to hear the sound coming from where - v-belts, compressor, engine …?
3) When you rev the engine, does the vibration become worse or become less?

Just changed the right lower arm on my Iswara. The front right tire was wobbling and the steering felt loose. Here's the cost:

GSP lower arm (Right) = RM65 (There's was another cheaper wan for RM45)
Satay bush = Free
Tie rod (1set) = RM30
Labour = RM40

To finish it off, I did the alignment for RM20 at another shop. It took more time than usual for the alignment. Then the mechanic said got some problem with the steering so he ask me to check with the previous mechanic where I change the lower arm.
The car feels much more better to drive now. The tires don't go left and right when I drive but still the steering feels a bit loose especially when I turn to right. The alignment of the front wheel also is not 100% perfect. So what could it be?

- tie rod
- tie rod end (rack end), the bush albert posted earlier, outside/foreman/layman term would be "monk head"
- potential steering rack problem

Roads at Johor Bahru nowdays are full of potholes. It's like road on the potholes not potholes on the road mad.gif
2 days ago after driving around Johor Bahru town, I realized that my front left turn signal's cover went missing. I'm sure I didn't hit anything so I guess it just fell of.

As usual got 2 versions at the spare part shop, 'normal wan' RM10 & Bosch RM45. What's the difference eh?

Bro, just to make sure, this part is tie rod rite. If yes, then I already changed it both left and right together with the lower arm.

find empty area to test:
gear 1, and just release clutch.

if the engine stalls immediately, then clutch is good else then may need to check/replace

Gonna share with you guys a simple and cheap DIY that I did just now. So here's the problem:

The rubber part that covers the courtesy lamp switch went missing on the left rear side and while on the right rear side, it's damaged.

Some of the plastic door base went missing and damaged.

So I went to the car spare parts shop that I usually go and bought this stuffs.

The courtesy lamp switch cover/door switch cap is RM4 per piece biggrin.gif

The plastic door base is RM1 per piece tongue.gif

The clutch is slipping if it is old and worn. Basically put in in 3 or 4 gear and floor the car. If the RPM rises but the car is not accelerating then it is slipping. Don't go so cheap with clutch. Most of the cost is the labor. smile.gif

should be higher gear... e.g. 4th or even 5th gear.

if first gear also don't stall immediately, it means clutch is REALLY REALLY REALLY GONE.. tongue.gif but if it doesn't stall at higher gears, it also means not so good already...
