I've been doing this over the long weekend.
Done a V6 engine mod onto my 9398 rockcrawler.
[attachmentid=3577377]
[attachmentid=3577383]

By using 3 universal axle joint to transfer the rotation power from the front motor, to a gear on the chassis. The gear from the V6 engine can then be detached when the chassis is flipped up.

Took 1 and a half days to build it, approx 9 hours to build. If start in the morning can finish in 1 day.

The alternate model for the 8070 looks cooler than the main model. The best part is the automatic roof!

If you want to build construction vehicles there is a whole range of vehicles to collect sweat.gif cranes, backhoes, wheel loader, bulldozer, dump truck etc. So better to stick to technic flagships only.

Nice! Very "hot rod" like!

Old photo of my other Technic collection, 8448, 8258, 8053 and 8275. Three of them were dissembled long ago and the red car is in its alternate mode. Tempted to rebuild the 8053 to put it side by side with my 42009.

Been so busy - no time for bricking!
Don't like Chima. Can pass.
Thanks for the info - but not heading to Ikano. Was there on Friday. Plan to redeem some Bonuslink points for Parkson vouchers. Think can get about RM 110 worth. Thinking what to buy. Have a few sets in mind, may go and look-see at Parkson.

OT: been busy setting up my Detolf cabinets for my Hot Toys. Finally done! Taking out figures, inspecting and posing also for display also hard work. Learnt some valuable lessons as well.

Those who plan to start or getting poisoned (you know who you are!), please take heed. Heartbreaking that I found 2 of my figures with damage. Both figures with fake "leather" materials - Hot Toys Terminator Salvation John Connor and Sideshow Aragorn.

If you have a weak heart, do not open!

I think my decision to slowly move away from Hot Toys is a good one. What's the worst that could happen to our LEGO - yellowing white bricks? Some minor dents and scratches?

Someone mentioned something in the XL forum - our toys need to be opened and displayed. They need to "breathe". I'm starting to believe it. These were kept in boxes, away from direct sunlight yet damage could happen. I have another figure with the fake leather - Bane. I guess I'll remove the jacket and just display it or leave it in the open.

Lucky nothing happened to my figures with rubber suits. And yes, I have alot of rubbers.

Some of my accessories already starting to get sticky - such as the goggles for my SWAT figure.

Our climate really not suitable for these figures. Ubah! tongue.gif

obviously the jacket is made by PU not leather, PU lifespan normally around 2 years, no matter you place it inside box or display it the PU still peel off (under any weather)

BTW, just finish my mobile crane MKII this holiday... my first set that unable to complete in 1 day...
let me share some pictures that i take this morning biggrin.gif (haven't apply stickers yet)
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

personally, i'm prefer the hook to be in one piece of metal, just like those old sets but i don't think it's possible with this size...
and there are "sound of doom" or sound like somethings gonna broken when raise or lower the crane part to maximum point...

took me 2 days to complete (about 13-15 hours) even i'm follow the instruction, only open the packages that's require instead of open all at once... (normally i will open all at once and search through all the parts biggrin.gif and this is my first set to use this method and i found it not bad actually... reduce the chances of wrong parts)

probably take me longer time if i apply stickers as well...

first thing that surprise me when i open the box - the wheel... it's really bigger than I had anticipated although there is picture show 1:1 of wheel size but it really surprise me when i take it out from the box

and it not only 10 rubber wheels in MKII brows.gif i'm sure it can be seen in my pictures laugh.gif

wow shocking.gif 9 hours to finish the MKII... it was really fast... probably technic expert only can achieve that notworthy.gif
maybe i can finish it in 1 day as well if i'm start at the morning...
(actually i open the box at 11am, open the packages and sorting... only start bricking about 11.45am-12pm, until about 12am which is about 10 hours, lunch and dinner time don't count biggrin.gif
then 2nd day start at about 10am and finish about 12-12.30pm and play with it almost whole day biggrin.gif )

so many tycoon share their technic collection drool.gif i shall share my as well

Went to Parkson this evening, the LEGO corner is soooooo sad.
Only few small boxes of friends set and few buckets of duplo bricks.

Tons of Chima speedoz thingy... nothing worth looking at sad.gif

Ended up buying a baby dress for my sis in law's new born coming soon next month.
