I'm more into construction/heavy vehicles (excavator/truck/cranes)

Nowadays some lego set including some technic part. At first really cannot accept but after see some review, thinking to try it.

After years of Technic collections, I gonna skip all 2013 sets except for MKII hehehehe....mini off road certainly look nice, :-)

Kinda sad isn't it? I rather let my child dun have the set, rather than start supporting KO.... If we all do our lil part to keep the demand for KO low, we can ensure our goods that we bought in future are all pretty much genuine.

But actually, we can't really say much on the price. Is our beloved Tanah Tumpahnya Negara Ku yang did not do well in Forex (added with expenditure on unnecessary stuff)

Kinda shame for a country that full with petroleum would still ended up with an economy that is as bad as it is now.

Secondly, it has been lesser and lesser people would buy LEGO because iPad is the next IN thing for kids. When there are demand, there will be supply and big demand would most probably keep the price down because big import of LEGO would lower down the shipping fee and stuff.

But I would say, LEGO although has become slightly more expensive, but it gives no privilege for ALJ to further marked up the price. Hell you go!

It's shameful thou, although we have Legoland down here, but the price is still not competitive as with other country.

To our Chinese brothers and sisters (do we have any here?) - today is the 1st day of the Chinese Ghost Festival so I threw something quick together.

Presenting my version of Sam Winchester - the "Hunter".



I originally started out thinking I'd do a MOC for one of my favorite TV shows "Supernatural". So the hunt for my parts began. I found it quite hard to get modern jackets like how they dress in the show. This will have to do for now. That's also the reason I got the Lone Ranger Cavalry set - to get the pistol for the Winchester pistol from the earlier seasons of the series.

I'm now on the lookout for a nice jacket for Dean, I've settled for the Indiana Jones torso. Now, if only I can find one! There are no hair-pieces suitable but I'm aiming for the Sleepyhead just to get the hair - so I'm on the lookout for that too.

The Supernatural family (part of it)



The stash of equipment and weapons I bought previously can be used to accessorize my minifigs. Here, my Sam can be a generic Zombie Killer!

And the most interesting part is LLM depend on ALJ to supply to them! Can't they just import by themselves?

I owned a few KO sets such as Enlighten, Sluban, Star Diamond and the brand of bricks for the KO Ice Dragon. So far the ones with the best quality is Star Diamond, followed by Sluban, Enlighten and other brands. Only Star Diamond has the "STAR" word in the stud, the rest do not have.

For Sluban the quality was actually OK. Some of the designs are original like this middle school set that they have produced. Prior to the Friends middle school set there wasn't any Lego City school being produced by Lego.


Enlighten while there are some original and attractive designs their brick quality is still far from perfect. In the off-road fire truck set one or two of the bricks have sharp flashing on the bricks. Then of course Enlighten will do sets which Lego will never do like a tank with suspension! But the quality was a letdown; got missing bricks and imperfect bricks.



Then there is this Enlighten pirate ship.... it came with all the bricks, but one or two bricks have sharp edges. But then got chrome weapons and the fact it is a black sea barracuda which Lego has not produced anymore!


As for competition from this KO bricks, I think it is fantastic that we have these got KO bricks to keep Lego at its feet.

They do have more interesting parts n mechanisms n pneumatics

I actually haven't own a set with pneumatics, hope to get one soon
First, I need to catch up with a few more backlog of previous years sets b4 buying new sets, it's a never ending journey!
