Dunno yet... Have to really plan and think it through carefully, don't want to end up with a few hundred pieces of parts that I don't want... Lol! doh.gif

Anyway, here's a little report from Singapore:

10211 Gran Emporium ~$311
10218 Pet Shop ~$290
10232 Palace Cinema ~$250
10233 Horizon Express ~199
10937 Arkham Asylum ~$300
10228 Haunted House ~$295
60026 Town Square $129.90 (discounted from $179.90)

If I'm not wrong there is a set of 10188 Death Star going for $699 or $599 at ToysHunt @ Novena Square. Supposedly promo and cash terms only, no further discount even for members. Saw another set of Death Star at Bricks World @ Ngee Ngan City asking for $899. rclxub.gif

From the looks of it 60026 is going at a great bargain here in Singapore. nod.gif I am not planning to get it but the price is calling to me to reconsider... doh.gif

Toyshunt has Brickarms parts but prices starts from $5.90 a piece... unsure.gif I'll also settle with the Taiwanese made ones... icon_rolleyes.gif

Gd Night! biggrin.gif
*
60026 I think buy with UOB CC at certain shopping malls, get another 5% discount.
wink.gif Don't flame me if they need SG UOB CC and not MY UOB CC tongue.gif

10232 palace cinema can get about SGD220, that's why I did not get from my previous HK trip. Wait further, drop further ...

Anyone tried customizing their minifigs before? Planning to order some parts in bulk but what is the paper quality to print the decals ar?

Clear decal paper for the face and white decal for the torso?

Want to make a horde of zombs!!  brows.gif  Thankiu!
*
I'm also looking at printing to clear-transparent sticker.
Most of the shops I found so far, are A3 white-blank-sticker to print.

Not much choice you have, standard gloss sticker paper only. Since we print 1-2 A3 size only.
Unless you going bulk like 10k-100k pieces, I think can approach printing factory directly and more options.

Also, printer colour matching , is a problem for shops. WYSIWYG is unlikely.

So far I have not see clear transparent sticker so far.. but what I did see before is high gloss sticker paper from my paper client last time.

About printer color matching, if we use Photoshop to print and select using Adobe Photoshop color matching, will it be slightly more "closer" to what is on screen?
*
It depends on each of the printer actually. Different brand and model, will have different colour printout. rclxub.gif
and the sticker paper also, if it is not pure-white, i.e. pearl white will come out different colour than pure white.

I have factor in the coruier fee and each set price as below, just for sharing to others who wan order from amazon germany, but this time i didn't pay custom tax, dunno is lucky or suppose no need to pay:
76006 MYR 97
9466        MYR 139
9464        MYR 91
76000 MYR 90
76003 MYR 172
10220 MYR 397
79108 MYR 179
no la, i didn't intend to hide, impossible to display all out in my car boot ma, still working leh tongue.gif
*
Hong Kong shops selling
10220 VW T1 Camper Van = HKD850 = MYR340
79108 Stagecoach Escape = HKD360 = MYR144

76006 Iron man I think RRP is RM99-100 only.
Some selling here for RM90-95.

But factor in the shipping, I think maybe about same price.

problem with clear-transparent sticker is that they are using CMYK colours. Which mean that if you stick on dark surface it won't be able to bring out those colours.

So far i couldn't find any shop that can print all full CMYK + White Layer.

better explanation biggrin.gif

[attachmentid=3566852]
*
That's a valid point which I haven't think of yet.
If CMYK, how does it print white on transparent then ? hmm.gif
Let's say I just want a white-logo on a clear-trans sticker.

i did ask before, they mention that white cannot be printed using CMYK color code. i dont really understand why  hmm.gif

they did provide another alternative, not sure if i got the term correct. first they need to print the silk layer to get the white then follow another print by the cmyk to for any non white color. this alternative is very pricey and need large volume.
*
Yeah. Need overlay with 1-2 layers of white. Then only print colours. Not cheap and need bulk.

I'd go with customs duty. It's 10% and that's all that matters to me, guess maybe it's relevant if you are doing it as a business?

If with shipping, you have to find 'lobang'. Or camp with tycoons who do CS. Some are underground deals sweat.gif

If hand-carry, you can find cheaper in some overseas countries.

Everything is going up mainly because of our Ringgit getting weaker by the day.

I mean GBP still alright since it has been fluctuating between 4.6-5 for the past few weeks. I guess it's good to lay low for a few months until the currency gets better.
Just wondering, if retail increase their price because of currency rise, will they decrease the price when it comes down? I doubt it since they already markup the price till 3-5x of US RRP right?
*
Unlikely. M'sia SOP for all businesses: Will give other reasons like transport cost increase, warehouse increase, labour increase, difficult hire people, no parking, bird drop from sky, etc. all kind of grand-bull-story yawn.gif

Maybe give you sales 10-15% discount only doh.gif

can share how do u keep the box?

my previous sets boxes i keep inside plastic bags to avoid dust but I don't have plastic bag that big enough for the box cry.gif
maybe i'll use wrapper to wrap it but still considering any other ways...
*
Use black rubbish bag. Double layer.
Or those big plastic bags from furniture/mattress shop.
Or go friend with IT guy, some UPS/servers come with super big plastic bag.

I need to see EV3 integration with current PF motors.

I used to own pre-Mindstorm Control Center and Mindstorm 1.5 sets. Both can't integrate.
Current add-on PF cables can integrate, but have not really play with it yet.

Therefore, EV3 is not in my urgent list.
