17-55 DX mahal because Nikon wanna butt-f**k their loyal users even though got Tamron 17-50 which can match the sharpness or even VC version for less than 1/3 of the nikkor

New camera of course la better, but ask yourself, are the improvements that critical to you? Do you really use them 90% of the time?
And finally is the price difference really worth it? If you cannot justify then i can only say you want 7100 to syok sendiri only la |

QUOTE(chokolato @ Aug 14 2013, 04:05 PM) aiyak... i was reading abt d7k just now... something about the motor being removed from the body because all nikkor lens has AF... forgotten which link already. is this true D7k no motor liao? then i should get ver2 rite? Where got such thing? I'm a D7000 user, motor still there, can spin also Anyway, for the lens, I've used both ver1 and ver2, build quality and image quality is the same version 2 is less prone to flare, plus the AF motor inside the lens is more quieter than version 1 which is body driven. Build quality is the same. Both can make fantastic photos provided you have the skills to do so. ![]() |

QUOTE(leongkokloon @ Aug 14 2013, 04:18 PM) LOLOLOLOL it is same category I was surprised too when Nikon announced the D7100 to be their highest end DX camera. Period Turns out it was marketing error in some country. So there's still hope for a fully professional D400 |

QUOTE(leongkokloon @ Aug 14 2013, 04:41 PM) Definitely D800 type body and controls. Bigger buffer is a must since almost all of their current models except for the D4 cannot last more than 15-20 frames.Probably will be seeing a new af sensor or revised 51point for more sensitivity in low light. |

QUOTE(MichaelJohn @ Aug 14 2013, 06:54 PM) So I was keen on asking this question about suitable lenses for taking figure and model kits pictures (Figure collector for my D90 and I tested out the Macro DX 40mm before and it was still not giving me the satisfaction I need to get more detailed closed up shots without compromising the lighting. Most lenses below 90mm are too close to the subject, making it hard for lighting. Anymore recommended lens? Go for a tamron 90mm or 60mm. Both have around 10cm+ working distance from the front of the lens to the subject. They get extremely sharp when stopped down too. This is with the 60mm F/2 before I sold it, combined with a 2x teleconverter summore ![]() |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Aug 14 2013, 07:21 PM) Unfortunately no Their Nikon 1 system is quite popular in their home country though, ranking No.1 in sales in an article I read. All we have is that Nikon suffered a pretty massive loss in terms of earnings because of their low sales of m43 systems lol I hope they do come up with a good one soon, otherwise Nikon will force me to jump ship It's the people in their marketing department that's dreaming, asking for almost 3k for the V1 kit set before the massive discounts. |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Aug 14 2013, 10:39 PM) Hehe, I think I can skip to 5 from 3 since I'm not that obsessed with gear as described by the article. Don't get me wrong, I love new gear, but thinking that new gear will make better photos is plain dreaming la. As for 5, I'm still not yet that competent with my gear until I can just adjust without thinking. So there you go. 3 |

QUOTE(leongkokloon @ Aug 15 2013, 09:24 AM) LOL, I just simplify the list because including all the known models that are still relatively available would start to look like thisD80<D90<D7000<D7100<D300<D300s<D700<D800<D800E<D3<D3S<D3x<D4 And there probably would still be people asking me to add the lower end models like D5100, or even older ones like D70, mati wei Pretty confusing for a new person yo, so I tried to just keep things simple la ![]() |
