yea.also got noobtards who cannot aim properly but decided to shoot hard as possible in order to make up for the inaccuracy. i tot wear cups can? u all dont wear ah.. i nvr had ballz kena there when gking.. but when not gking got la sweat.gif sweat.gif when cobra style, u slide sideways ma.. so the only thing scared is he lob over u. coz u kinda like lying down sideways when u slide him cobra style. u can see thru the middle gap of the cobra, but the gap isnt big enough for ballz to pass thru... side shots are not a problem, coz ur legs can tahan..but seriously. 1 on 1's is not ur fault if u fail to do anything... coz its actually defender's prob. unless u playing with noobtards like i do, the striker got a pass in front of goal, and my teammates scol dme sweat.gif i ask u who noob, the defender who dint mark the goal scorer, or me.

you should go straight... if u go then stop then go again, they (strikers) will have time to think.... because when u stop then go again, you give them a split second to take another method of going pass you.....

usually when i rush out wan ar.... i bring everything along with me, ball, players, grass/mud/sand/water

Guys, thanks for keeping this thread alive, been away since last Friday, preparing for my new job. Congrats Italia for winning the World Cup, Buffon made some outstanding saves (well, actually just one in ET). Never thought of Buffon as a penalty saver, was proven right.

arsenwagon: How did U hurt your thumb ? Actually, the thumb is the least likely to get hurt, if it does get hurt, then it's really bad. I'm an advocate of taping your fingers before playing, & I've never taped my thumb. Normally the index, middle & ring fingers are them most likely to get injured. So use surgical or athletic tape & tape the middle joints. The tape shouldn't be too thick that U block bloodflow though.

QUOTE
( when catching high ball, always let your two thumbs touching each other. )

Based on my experience, if U should have ur thumbs close when catching any type of balls (except grounders, when U do the reverse W). The secret is to cushion the ball, don't let your palm get to rigid when catching, relax. Catching the ball is the best way to secure it, & U'd have time to settle down & let Ur teammates catch some breath. U can punch the ball when under pressure & try to make a good, firm punch, if possible, directed away from the opponents.

One on ones: Experience will play a vital role. Saw the save Kahn made from Pauleta in the third placing match-ups ? Kahn stood right at the edge of the box, stood his ground & he knew Pauleta would try to curve the ball to his left, becoz the right side is already covered.
U'd have to judge the distance between the U, the ball & the onrushing striker. If you can get to the ball first, then go for it. If the striker is dribbling, rush to him & wait for him to make mistake, normally he'll try to dribble around U. That's when U make Ur move.
Don't stop when making a run for 50-50 ball. Rush out & finish it. If U stop U'll give the striker a chance to chip. Rush out, if U have a slight advantage then go for the ball with your hands, otherwise go in with Ur legs first.

kcng: Yeah I had a game yesterday, won 2-1, playing in intense heat. Got some cut on my elbow, my ankle got treated after a one-on-one. Got my left foot swollen after another one-on-one, & my Lotto GForce finally scratched after I rubbed it against the pitch..... doh.gif

sometimes it helps too if u just lift up your hands or spread your legs and hands as wide as possible during some blind dive..... the ball might just touch one of your hands and legs and you made a save...

lol
i did that a few times before where i just throw my body in one direction and the ball hit my toe and bounces over the crossbar...

lol
actually i dont know much about it but my mates just say wah lao eh, good save...

lol

so who do u guys think perform the best as a keeper in this edition's WC?

buffon gets my vote. this judgment is not only based on his outstanding save in the finals, which btw was awesome but his overall performance throughout the competition. u dun get so many cleacn sheets for nothing.. yeah even tho i noe there are worldclass defenders in front of him, it takes a good GK to be able to guide these superstars and organise the players in front of him but certainly having cannavaro in front of him makes his job a bit easier. he also did spectacular save b4 the final n the save from zizou's header deserves a mention as well. it jz show vr hi lvl of concentration espc in ET where players tend to switch off. luckily he didnt. 1 low thing is that, he's bad at judging spotkicks sad.gif..

for me, buffon is the best keeper no doubt but lehman is not far behind as well. he absolutely justified why klinsman pick him as no.1. Too bad this will be his last WC as well.

i miss the days of Schmeichel and Kahn... oh.. those were the days... Barthez? Bleh! never like him.

as for this world cup, Buffon gets my vote, tho i would love to give it to kahn but since he doesn't have much chance to play... if not it would be 1st kahn then 2nd Buffon.

Hahha...no la, still around, but fading very fast...

Sorry kcng for not informing our training sessions. I was on leave Tuesday and Wed, to settle my medical check-ups (finally settled yesterday). I'm joining the government on Monday, I'll report for a 10-day course in Terengganu on Monday, then come back, then continue "coursing" for 6 months. I hope it won't affect my training that much, working with the government means I can join the afternoon training sessions now.

My team will play one of our biggest games this season, against KL Hawks (or KL U-19) in Stadium Cheras on Sunday. All of y'all are welcomed of course, game starts at 5pm, admission free. Currently we are fourth in the 1st Division, KL Hawks are 5th, but they've just played 5 games, we have played like 10 games. We need to maintain this position to qualify for the FA Cup & gain promotion.

woah,
you working for the goverment ?

by the way, when you are going up for a high ball, do you stick one of your knee out or your knee out but your toes pointing upwards so that the studs shows..

hope u understand the second part.. lol just dont know how to describe it..

just want to know if i show the studs out, is it wrong ?
because during the heat of the game, sure somehow we can forget things...
