QUOTE(tenno @ Jun 27 2006, 11:17 AM) Well, as I said, playing fast-paced FPS like Quake III can improve sharpness, not really reflexes. It can improve alertness, awareness & sharpness. In the US, some of the american football teams let their players play video games before their matches. thanks for the invite tenno....I hope I can get my Lotto G-Force today, so that I can test it in training. Hopefully.....hopefully... kcng: I've a suggestion. We have a training session today at 8pm in PKNS Kelana Jaya. Why don't U just come & watch us training first ? i cant make it for today really sorry... next time i will try too... thanks again... |

Finally got my gloves on Tuesday night, but not in time to use for the training session. Got to test it during our friendly last nite. I cannot say I'm too impressed, the grip was mixed, sometime it was okay, sometimes like non-existent (the grip). To make it worse, we played using the Finals Teamgeist (yeah, the gold one). But in the end it was okay.
I guess the mixed grip was to be expected coz I didn't give the gloves pre-wash. Some gloves need to be washed before their used for the 1st time, to remove materials like soap & chemical used during the manufacturing process. Some gloves, like Nike dun need to be pre-washed. I'll write a review for the G-Force sometime next week, after I can get some pics. I'ma do the same for KeeperZone, seemed like nobody is reviewing this gloves yet. kcng: Our next training session will be next week, most likely Tuesday at 8pm. Maybe U can come & watch first so that U'll know what is to be expected for a keeper in my team. |

Lotto G-Force
This is the glove that Petr Cech was wearing throughout Czech Republic's short campaign in the World Cup. The price is RM169.90, available from Lotto Shops in KL (actually there's only one in Pertama Complex) Construction This glove is well constructed throughout, with some places double-stitched for durability. The palm is 4mm Supersoft latex, & the backhand is also latex. There is some strategically placed silicon on the knuckles to aid punching. The G-Force in the name is actually protective gel inserts placed on the backhand (see pic). These inserts are supposed to protect your wrist when stopping shots. Two sets of inserts are included, soft and hard. The inserts are easily changed even when you have the gloves on. I had one instance where the inserts' velcro closure accidentally opened after making a save, but the inserts fits snug enuf to prevent it from coming out. Personally, I don't feel any difference with either inserts on, & I can tell the difference without the inserts. But some of my pals said that U'r gonna need more protection on your fingers than Ur wrists. Closure system is similar to Uhlsport's, with a wide elastic wrist band & overlapping double closure. The bandage of the Lotto Premier Cech has partially been covered in latex for increased support, which also incorporates a new dual latex wrist belt for variable wrist comfort and protection. Palm The 4mm Active Response Feel supersoft latex gave me mixed grip the first time I used it. I got it quite late so I had no time to give it a pre-wash before using it in a friendly match. To make matters worse, we were using the Teamgeist Final ball (the gold color one), and even when I moisten the palm about 30 minutes before the game started, it didn't achieve full adhesiveness. Fortunately it didn't give me any trouble during the game. When I went home I gave it a wash & the grip has improved dramatically. Durability was excellent, no chipping at all after my first game. But the mysterious thing is that it developed yellow spots after I moisten the palm for the first time, & these yellow spots didn't come off after the first wash. Comfort & Fit Very comfortable with Dura Ripstop Nylon backhand. There are three silicon pads called Cushion Cells on the knuckles to give more power when U punch the ball. A little on the heavy side, compared to my Nike Tiempo Grips which is very light. I use a size 10, tried a 9 but the fit is too snug for my liking, so I took the size 10. Very easy to get into & to take off. Overall I'm satisfied with my acquisition although I have to test it a few more times in training before I use it in matches. Interchangeable Latex? Lol I don't think it would ever be invented coz the gloves sales will drop if such technology is developed.

Well, actually, there is such technology in Adidas Tunit gloves. 3 palms are offered : Dry, Wet & Hard ground. The palm is interchangeable through a series of zippers & velcro fasteners. It's not available yet anywhere, most of the keeper's forums don't really like the idea.![]() |

QUOTE(mxxuang @ Jul 1 2006, 12:38 PM) Comfort. I dun think I'll be comfortable wearing gloves with zippers inside. There's also a risk of the zippers accidentally opened. I dun think U'll see any of the top keepers using this anytime soon. |

tunit is just crap.. the price goes to the design and stuff.and also the fact that the uppers etc can be changed.any personally know keepers who use k leather boots ? lol and hard ground keeper gloves ?? is it coz keepers glove always graze agaisnt the ground?? so they create durable ones for different surfaces?i bet its like this.i'd prolly get a duh

QUOTE(kcng @ Jul 2 2006, 09:45 AM) hmm... just bring different glove for the match to prepare for playing condition... wont that be easier ? Yeah, that'll be a lot easier actually. Experience helps too, when U have several gloves, U'll know which glove is suitable for what condition, although the gloves looks the same. We dun have the luxury of having different glove models for different weather being sold here.I bring two pairs to almost all games, except those that I already know what to use. My Puma gloves dun really have good wet weather grip, my Nike's better, so I use my Puma for dry conditions. Like today, I'ma test my Lotto GForce for my first match, so as a backup I'll have my Nike along, just in case I'm not satisfied with the Lotto. |
