Just bought some supplements for my GR.. glucosamine+chondroitin(sth like that).. cos me rm285...
wooooo... now i hafta go buy that eagle pack kibbles.. rm166..
OMG OMG... but he deserves it.. i hope.. i hope.. i can make him healthy and strong unlike the previous owner... wish me luck...

BTW... any GR owners care to share their GRs diet? like that they eat and stuff... cos mine dun really wanna eat... only prefers rice with bones.. which the vet told me is not nutritious enough for him.. causing him to have weak hind legs... any thoughts to that?? please share.

he need meat also...

since he likes rice, why not buy dry dog food and mix with the rice while its boiling in the rice cooker, then after cooked already mix it all up properly...

mix some vegetable oil with it...

after some time you can just start feeding him normal dry food hell get used to it.

another is can go to market in the morning get some fresh chicken meat and let him eat, cook it first as im sure he wont be used to it raw. You can boil it together with the rice.

I change my dogs food usually. Sometimes give dry, sometimes porridge, sometimes raw meat with bones...

Their fur is really nice especially my german shepherd which really shines...

i am in sarawak, miri area. the previous et my GR went to.. is an *******... the kind that wanna suck up ur money.. so i dun know if i really should trust what he says... he's the one that says my GR needs steroid injection.
the vet my GR currently is visiting only advise me to give him chondroitin and Glucosamine.. his hind legs seems to have improved since i brought him back. but still.. his hind legs only has skin on his bone.. no muscle... and i doubt that is normal?? i treid to search the web about steroid injection in canines.. it says will have side effect.... so am worried and wonder if my GR really needs a steroid injection..

when i first brought him back, he did not eat anything.. he did not wanna eat anything... i thought he was homesick.. so i brought him to the vet to cehck him out.. turns out, he's sick.. down with fever.. so no appetite... after eating the medicines... he's fine now... right now.. he's on eagle pack's kibble for large breedpuppy. eats twice a day.. for dinner i mix his kibbles with da canned meaty thingee.... he finishes it... he's more plump now.. but still.. has no muscles on his hind legs.. i worry that if he gains his weight back..his hind legs cannot support his body weight.. errr... how???

please help...

can he walk alright or like cannot walk at all, there is muscle no matter what la, otherwise sure he cannot use his legs...

its just that they are not well developed...

how old is he now?

why dont you take him for walks daily, before he gains back his weight...

try to do activities where he uses his hind legs more, but dont stress him out or pull his muscle, just keep it to a minimum for the time being...

another thing is swimming...

Steroids will have really bad side effects...

Like what anarchist said, bring your dog swimming. The excercise from swimming is mild to weak joints but great for muscle building. It has less impact than jogging or running and swimming is good for the heart as well.

he's only 24 kgs. skinny hind legs. he can walk just fine but when he sits down.. its hard for him to get up.. he uses his front 2 leg/hand/feet to push his body up. is that normal?

55kg ? are you kidding me ? 55kg for a 3 months old is gigantic . I am not sure about male , but my female labrador was 12-13kg @ 3 months .. and she's now 27kgs only @ 9 months . Ahh... HEIGHT OR WEIGHT NOW ? Fala is about 21.5" ( x 2.54cm ) = 55CM smile.gif ... 3 months probably about 28cm , approximately .
