SS2, Clutch Gamer has GRAW.. even the above specs cannot coupe 4v4 full scare of war where by thousands of units raging war at the same time at land, see and air sweat.gif

Dude, no PC in the world today can handle a 4v4 battle! Its unthinkable!!!

That being said, maybe I should check out Clutch again. Last time I went there was when it just opened and it had a really crappy selection of games.

heck... I've 1 GB of RAM an AMD CPU rated equivalent to 3.5Ghz with a Radeon 9600XT. Even on minimum settings, I'm having problem running the game smoothly.

So I'm giving up playing the game until such time I can afford a more powerful rig.

ROFLMAO.. even a Dual core + 7900GT still lag like shit in medium detail once the full scale of war commenced.. 1v1 and 2v2 still be able to play at smooth, other than that forget about it.

o.0 see my siggy...i run this game fine at high settings at 1v1....framerates at 60-70...but during missions at 1v2 or 2v2..i still get some acceptable frame rates at 30-40...well...if you've played Total Annihilation before this...you would know that they always hv the option to slow the speed down to help cope with the RAW POWER CONSUMPTION so to speak...

-edit-

I STILL HV NO SOUND..GODDAMN IT!~ HELP!!!~~

True enough its quite crap (More to the do with the fact that GRAW PC sucks in general), but unless cafes start picking up Armed Assault, there's no other option for me.

Anyway, at Netmaster, it almost never crashes except for one map. I've finished all but 2 coop missions biggrin.gif

I just came back from Western Australia LAN(WALAN) just not and I saw some people playing 3 v 3 for sup com just now so I just went and asked them what specs was one of the guys running the game on he told me he was running it on all high specs with an AMD duo core and 7900gt SLI. It was smooth though they had the settings for the game on variable and the were playing it on average 2+ speeds. Some of the players were also on normal laptops(not alien ware stuff).

So I guess you do not really need a 8800GT SLI with Core2 duo extreme to run the game smooth for sup com.

hmm actually can.

overclock to ure cpu to 3.6ghz with 400fsb atleast with a 8800gtx.

playable.
one thing i note about supreme commander.
sometime the lag is not about how many units rather than what unit type.
the `100 heavy gunship lags more than 300 bombers.

I doubt u really need a 8800gtx for max performance as I mentioned earlier that a 7900gt can run everything to the max.

Yeah cause those heavy gunships have more abilities than 300 bombers like hoovering and stuff and those takes up more comp resources.

ok so not the sli but a 7900 is good enuf I recon.

I do not quite understand your statement you mean in the beggining it does not lag but it only starts to lag towards the end where you have like 300-400 units?

Well to answer to that statement I was watching the whole game and it was through all out and that speed tweak was through out the game. Id say the game speed does influence the game performance.

the thing about my case is that i'm using the highest spec compared to my friends, they're on S64 / A64 and 7300GS / 6600GT respectively.

online gaming is just a matter of packet transfers, however my machine is the one hosting the AI and i wonder if that affects the gaming speed.

i believe the RAM has to do with it, the game logs all the details of the game. perhaps that's why when you 3 vs 3 on a bigger map and reaching points where there are many units, things actually slow down as more RAM is needed for units while other parts of the RAM are probably allocated for logging and also HDD access to save logs blablablabla.

IMO, This game is required more CPU processing power and higher capacity of ram in order to run smooth, rather than very high end GPU

what i meant is when everybody is using tech 3 units...at the end of the skirmish..
to zoom out is suicidal.
testing later gaming at 3.2 400x8, c2d, 4gb ddr2 800, 8800gts 640 at 1600x1024, everything at high.

click on the commander, you'll see the HP is like 11k++

but did you know that just a few T3 units can take down a commander easily?

heck i kill the highest difficulty AI within ~5 minutes of the game - just using Tech 1 point defense. tongue.gif

It's suppose to be that way cause game end with dead if ACU; unless you set to must kill all to finish the game.
