The gameplay very similar to Total Anihilation..

i think Total anihilation also have few maps as big as the map we saw it in demo.. Donno need how long to finish the game..

I think Supreme Commander is going to live up to the reputation of being as demanding as TA when TA came out. Last time you need 64 MB of ram minimum to run the largest of maps. Now I think you'll going to need something like 3GB?Quad Core? Geforce 9900GT? PS3?
*
I dont think 64MB can run largest TA map.. some need 128MB and some need 96MB. I still have the game in my old PC and still playing it..

IINM, at the time of its release only 64MB maps were available (These were monstrosities at a time when 32MB was considered high end). Only after Core Contingency did they bring in the 128 MB ones.

Well look on the bright side, at least it doesn't take forever to load like in the original TA biggrin.gif
*
Comparing TA and SupCom, i feel like it is the same except for the new camera feature. I just found out something.. T3 builder and T2 builder cant build T1 buildings sweat.gif

Well during the E3 preview, there was this massive battle with like 4 of them... That would be bulk I guess tongue.gif

Anyway, the Aeon and UEF experimental units are far more cooler than the Cybrans. The caveat though is that the UEF ones are SUPER expensive while the Aeon ones are kinda wimpy.

UEF has the super heavy artillery installation. Well, for TA veterans, you know the Buzzsaw? The rapid firing Bertha? Yeah, this is that, but its range is HUUUUUUUGE. Its also the most expensive item in the game IINM.

Then there's the mobile factory, which is kinda cool as it builds T2 units really fast. Plus, its got artillery cannons up the wazoo. Not much health though.

Aeons have the flying fortress (Remember the UFOs from the movie Independence Day? Yeah, THAT but faster) and a giant walking robot. biggrin.gif

And u know what?? they took ages to completely build that thing

Netmaster Damansara has some pretty nasty PC specs (Intel dual cores with 7800GTs and 2 GB RAM IINM), but they're kinda slow at updating their games list.

That being said, they're the only cafe I know that has GRAW, that's where I go for my coop fix tongue.gif
*
SS2, Clutch Gamer has GRAW.. even the above specs cannot coupe 4v4 full scare of war where by thousands of units raging war at the same time at land, see and air sweat.gif

Dude, no PC in the world today can handle a 4v4 battle! Its unthinkable!!!

That being said, maybe I should check out Clutch again. Last time I went there was when it just opened and it had a really crappy selection of games.
*
I cant promise they still have the game installed.. i play it long long time ago. GRAW multiplayer COOP sux.. it keep crash to desktop after a while

to all supcom players out there, would like to ask if anyone uses an intel graphic chipset to play this game before?? R u able to even play this game at a very low graphic settings?
*
ROFLMAO.. even a Dual core + 7900GT still lag like shit in medium detail once the full scale of war commenced.. 1v1 and 2v2 still be able to play at smooth, other than that forget about it.

the thing about my case is that i'm using the highest spec compared to my friends, they're on S64 / A64 and 7300GS / 6600GT respectively.

online gaming is just a matter of packet transfers, however my machine is the one hosting the AI and i wonder if that affects the gaming speed.

i believe the RAM has to do with it, the game logs all the details of the game. perhaps that's why when you 3 vs 3 on a bigger map and reaching points where there are many units, things actually slow down as more RAM is needed for units while other parts of the RAM are probably allocated for logging and also HDD access to save logs blablablabla.
*
IMO, This game is required more CPU processing power and higher capacity of ram in order to run smooth, rather than very high end GPU

the problem with this game is that it's SLOW.

the nice part about this game is you have 101 ways to win it. smile.gif not many games include naval warfare.

the good thing about Cybran is that even at Tech 1 it has decent assault units.

the bad thing i find about Cybran is that they lack T3 Shield Generators.

Aeon's Colossus is annoying. damn huge HP and there was once i have 5 colossus debris in a lake i'm defending. tongue.gif

Cybran's rapid-fire artillery is great for attacking people. smile.gif low HP and it has a range that's capable of covering small / medium sized maps.

the most useful unit so far (i find) is the UEF T3 Gunship. damn tough to kill (you know la, being high HP air unit also helps) while packing awesome firepower. finishes T4 units in a jiffy.

even Tech 3 Sam sites take a while to bring them down. in fact if you have like only 3 - 4 Tech 3 Sam sites, then bye bye la. just send in 1 bunch and take down your Sams first. then other AA facilities.

and about the Cybran destroyer. i like them. play vs the AI, just use like 3 - 4 of them can wipe out practically the entire base. only think i hate is their movements are a bit stupid and when on land, they're SLOW and STUPID. arggghhh.

FYI, the Supcom tourney hosted by Gamespot.com last time.

- Average time for 1 match in preliminary ~30mins
- Average time for 1 match in quarter, semi-final, and final ~ 15mins

they are all 1v1 matches.

wtf they play so fast?
Bring your commander along when u fight. Not to hide them under water like (Doh, Girl style)

micro ur commander well and gg

surprisingly my trusty old Pentium 4 2.4 @2.53 (socket 478) with 1 gyg ram + 1600pro agp can run this game at the lowest resolution (1024). I tried skirmish on the smallest map 1vs1ai and it runs pretty well, no lag at all, and then currently in campaign 2 everything seems fine. cpu temp not more than 50deg. I've built hundreds of units too just to test got lag or not, so far so good. hopefully it stays that way since im just started
*
wow my old machine Athlonxp 2600 , 1GB ram, Radeon 9800pro run the campaign slow as snail.

*
if u want 4v4, 8000units vs 8000units, biggest map. u need 8800GTX, 4GB ram and C2Q

Does anyone here have the insane mind to actaully play this online?

The game is a major turteling RTS, not that its bad but most everybody have gotten use to fast paced versions. Have anyone bought the ori and played it yet?

I am considering buying the first and second release.
