Yeah Ive got the same feeling too the UEF some how looks coolest however my prefered faction are the AEONs.

Erm, I think its because in the campaign, the details are not turned down all the way (There's shadows if you play in low and none while in multiplayer)

Dammit, King_kong. The ONE game that you guys localize after so long just had to come with a really kickass CE (And its super expensive to boot).

PS. I'm either picking the UEF or Cybran boxes... The Aeon may look sleek, but too sleek to my liking.

Making of documentary, Video mission briefing with Chris Taylor, 3 original tracks from the game, Fan website kit, Exclusive wallpapers.

It would be better if they included all the 16 video tutorials in the Bonus DVD also.

Erm, shouldn't they be included in the game DVD itself because that's kinda essential for all players?

Nope, in the demo when you click the tutorial button it opens the web browser and directs you to Sup Com website where they have the videos there for download.

Yeah, I figured in the demo that's the case... but wouldn't the retail versions have it in the disc itself?


Added on February 15, 2007, 6:00 pmJust placed my order for the CE with TSB. Yay!

Unfortunately, they're only reopening on the 26th. Ah well, at least I won't have it to distract me from my thesis. whistling.gif

I think in the retail version they should have the tutorial in it if not an in game tutorial, if not how do they expect a fresh man in stretegy games to play such a complex game it took me quite a while to figure out how to play this game.*Sigh*

Side track abit wow ur doing a thesis?

Since all of u were discussing the tactics to play hard AI on skirmish I thought i share my experience on it too tongue.gif

First, i notice the AI uses this strategy all the time on me. I guess it likes me like that.

First, it will send 1 engineer early in the round over to my side n convert a few mass collectors. The bastards. Then it will flank down the right side with a squad of Lighties. If that goes thru it will send another squad of Lighties down the left. It will either have on the left or right coast 2 frigates to attack ur mass converters that r in the centre next to the lake. If there is turret resistance it will send fliers to destroy the turrets (1st pri), ground units (2nd pri) and finally ur buildings. If u (by u i mean me) manage to hold off those attacks it will send a few Seige Bots over with the Lighties (Lighties used to take on coming turret fire n if they survive move behind the turrets causing them to turn away from the Seige Bots). N finally, either a Salem comes but not often or a MonkeyLord which is as u all say GG.

Early on i thought i'll take the outter islands n build my Ion gens n large mass fabs there with a navy to protect it. Well, it worked as the MonkeyLord ripped through the main base my small island bases held on. Built a few crusiers to make sure no frigates came over but build a hell a lot of Heavy Flaks n Point Defence.

A nice surpise awaited for me... MonkeyLord can traverse thru water. Pop up on my main resource island n killed it. I then thought build crap load of torpedos on my remaining island. That worked. 2 MonkeyLords bite it. There was glee on my face. Then sudden the flying experiental blimp thing came over. I thought I got so many Heavy Flaks (tech 2) it will be blown out of the air. No go. It ripped thru the turrets. Killed the torps. Then the MonkeyLord swam over n gave my Commander the kiss of death.

So I finally came up with a tactic that i have used 3 times in a row that works.

Build a land factory, build the gens n collectors. Get out 3 engineers n send them over to the other half of the island. On the right side of the island build 3 pairs of PD turrets n 1 pair of flaks near the lake. If u dont put it near the lake but near the resource point the frigates can hit them. The other 2 u send up to other resource points on his side n build 1 piar of PDs n 1 pair flaks. That should stops Lighties that pass by as well as any of the AI's engineers.

As we say in DOW cap ur resource points. Get 1 engineer to build a a radar near the lake n naval base in the lake. If ur PDs r doing their jobs u be blocking the AI from getting a 1/3 of his mass from his side of the island. Upgrade the naval to tech 2. Use 2 to 3 engineers to help. Build non stop Salems.

When u get ur first Salem out walk it to his base. It will help a lot of u put another radar tower on his side of the island on top of the lake so the Salem can use the radar to hit target out of it's sight as it moves in.

AI dies before even getting out a Salem of its own. Remember to help protect the Salems with a few PDs n flaks along the path it's gonna take to the enemy base (i suggest going up from the left side).

Interesting note... upgrade ur Commander's weapons to Microwave gun n nitrogen cooling. U get a Commander with the same firepower (MonkeyLord uses a Mircowave gun) like the MonkeyLord's.

Interesting note... Support Commanders have twice the HP as ur Commander. Does not have a Mircowave gun but still a powerful blaster (upgrade). Add auto regeneration pack for Assault Type SC or upgrade them to be a tech 3 Mass Collector (+12 mass n +1000 i think power bonus) n super builder. Support Commanders build at tech 3 already.

Now u all can flame me away!! lol

Most of the game shops say that they will get Supreme Commander after CNY .. damn .. i wanted to play during CNY wan cause got long leave.

King_kong ... can curi-curi sell one copy for me ar .. si beh tahan already laugh.gif

I guess it sumarises to control the AI's resources and you'll win the game.

For me I destroyed th AI's Sup Com very early in the game cos it comes to my point Defence like a morth to the flame and explodes destroying 1/2 if not 3/4 of its base so basically its Gg for the AI turret rush FTW, I used my sup com to build the Pd btw since it builds things fast.

fujkenasai i did that once too tongue.gif then left the AI alone for 30 mins teching like mad.... then i see 3 MonkeyLords coming towards me.

Thats why u have to strangel the computer if not u have to tech to T3 faster than the com.

Yeah, just saying even u kill the AI's commander n 2/3's of its base it can totally recover given about 30 mins (plus i gave back all the AI's resource points tongue.gif). Super econ management from the AI. lol. But if u kick it off the island the AI will not build on the 2 other smaller islands... apparently it is that stupid....

I kept pushing pd at the AI to finish it off and since its out of resources its Gg for it u cant let it alone after killing its Sup Com.

I wanted to build the nuke base, tech 3 anti missile, actually all the tech 3 buildings tongue.gif plus several experimentals lol... didnt think it could recover that fast. Had no army to defend against the MonkeyLords. N those things move pretty fast on that small map.

One thing they should have added to the game is the playback feature. I would love to see what BO n build design (where n how many buildings the AI place together) the AI uses. I mean it really doesnt use much engineers to boost building speeds like we (the TA experts) do...

ohh nowonder in that case you must tech to t3 fast and control the map with Galaxy Class Crusers but before that build lots of t3 builder to help with ur econ and building speed and dun forget to defend ur base with t2 turrets.

Hehe after watching a few episodes of Galaxy Angel 4 the AEON ILUMINATI looks like galaxy angel's planes I wonder will there be a Sup Com galaxy angel mode that would be funny. heh !!! ^A^V

fujkenasai, when u killed off the commander n a 2/3 of the base u want to relax n see all the units n buildings... u know take the 10 cent tour. lol.

No wonder....... I guess your character is different than mine, prolly I play too much wei qi(aka Igo/baduk) I like to strangle my oponent and keep them on the lich so Ive been monitoring the com as it progresses so that it wont grow out of my control ohh yeah I built alot of sensors around also so what ever the com is building I'd know.
