but as car maker, u wanna have a lot of sales or u want ur car to poor on sales but win a lot of award ??? whistling.gif

Hahahaha, kudos to this question.
I'd have to say in the Malaysian's mentality, it's "make more sales"
I don't quite understand why Proton made such a good car, but spoilt it completely with a horrnedously ugly looking butt. It's such a shame, because I did like the savvy's muscular front quite a bit.

oh btw - those who got good FC with Myvi - care to tell us whether yours is 1.3A or 1.3M or 1.0M or what? smile.gif

1.3 Auto full Spec is about RM0.16 per KM. Manual can do more. A lot more.

I don't get the bashers. Malaysian mentality is about usability and lifestyle. Not about drivability. There are always some people who would love a good cornering, a good acceleration, great manuverability.

In the end, it just feels so stupid when you got a car which can do all that but always stuck in a Malaysian traffic Jam, got a familiy you need to fetch to a holiday resort, car pool, etc...

1 reason out of so many others. And they have the nerve (or lack the logic) to call the other Malaysians having stupid mentality.

Ok... Let me say the pros of Savvy...

It's superb handling, superb drivability, superb FC, superb errr.... Driving experience, Superb (Everything about the drive)...

In the end, you get a car for good driving and driving only. You can fetch a friend or two in it but will you be risking your life on the street? Like someone said, he's only going to do all those on the track but when you buy a car, the majority of the usage will be on the road!

And they just kept bashing the MyVi just because it outsold the savvy and not a better car then Savvy... They just keep on bashing and bashing and kept on accusing of Malaysian Mentality which just don't want to drive a good drivable car but a big comfortable car.

How narrow minded can they get?

If you're driving alone, Then go ahead and get the Savvy! But if you don't have friends to fetch around, then don't insult others who get some other bigger car then yours.

i actually agree wit n305er..

the thing is, at the end of the day, it comes down 2 wat u exactly want from a car.. not everybody wants small car wit excellent handling n good fc.. i think the main reason y the myvi is such sales phenomenon here in our country is coz it delivers wat malaysians exactly want from a car.. its a small practical city runaround which has excellent space inside 2 carry 5 adults around.. i myself would rather have spacious interior than good cornering capability.. dont get me wrong here, im not a basher.. those who know me here would surely know that im a fan of the savvy too.. but then again, a car is sumthin that cost a lot 2 buy n maintain.. so when we're buying one, we must choose properly wat we exactly want from it.. im not a fast driver, i dont take corners at high speeds n im a huge person, so the logical choice would definitely be the myvi..

im not saying the savvy is bad car.. theres no doubt in my mind its the best car that proton makes 2day, but the reason y i would go 4 the myvi is coz it fulfills better the requirements that i want from a car..

pls stop bashing.. both cars has its pros n cons.. its up 2 the buyers themselves 2 workout which they rather live wit.. its no point arguing on which one is better, coz theyre both flawed..

MyVi 1.3 EZi:
35km +/- 5km distance daily: RM50 -> 360km~390km
< 10km distance daily (very short trip): RM50 -> 260km~290km
Avg city driving would be in the middle of these two settings.

I haven't try going long distance trip > 100km.

p/s: with rate RM1.92/L

My father covers around 1000 km in one month. Every month he fills up around 3, sometimes 4 times at 3/4 full.
Too bad didn't buy Savvy, I'd be driving that. tongue.gif
But with 5 people in the family and in that, one big child(my brother), we'll regret it. biggrin.gif

really good point here. but somehow, i do feel that the savvy owners bashed in the act of frustration after having many many proton bashers condemning the savvy. not to say that they have the rights to bash others, just that they are angry, that's all. one way to deal with bashers is just to ignore them.

i agree.. juz ignore those bashers.. coz sumtimes they talk without facts, n worst still, talk without even testing the cars.. n im not goin against one side here, im talkin bout both savvy bashers n myvi bashers whistling.gif

thats actually typical of malaysians.. a lot of car buyers tend 2 get mesmerize by tiny little details.. ive come across one guy b4 who bought the chevy aveo juz coz he likes the 2 spike thingy on the front bumpers skirting..

i believe so too. smile.gif what goes around comes around.

for me, i'm getting Savvy for a few reasons
1. price
2. AMT
3. FC
4. don't fetch people a lot
5. 4-door
6. so many Myvi. turn head everywhere also Myvi. so i get Savvy. LOL.

of coures, Myvi has some of it but all these while the feedback i got about the 1.3A is that it's a guzzler and rather underpowered. not the same feedback for 1.3M though.

the main reason i'm not getting Myvi is the price and the transmission. smile.gif

IMO Myvi is a good car, people buy it because after being offers years of crap from local cars - finally something nice came. a nice 4 door (ok 5 if you count the back) car that's nice to see, and decently priced.

i mean, i was really attracted to Myvi myself. smile.gif

getting Savvy 1st, cos cheaper. Myvi is next on the purchase list. smile.gif

i come by someone who decided to go for Myvi instead of Savvy due to Savvy's thin door-lock button. LOL. now complaining Myvi FC.......... maybe she didn't run it in properly or something. i donno. whatever....... tongue.gif

yes indeed. biggrin.gif

actually nothing wrong with Savvy or Myvi. firstly they're of different class, i don't think they're even fit for direct comparison unless you're basing on RM 50k budget.

oh btw i've added #6 on my reason to get Savvy in the above post.

tats y i don't respect "hot selling car title" given by 3rd world country ppl like malaysia..unless it comes from ppl in advanced country like Japan n europe..
example NOKIA brand is most popular hp in asean ,taiwan region but not in Japan ,US and europe

herd mentality. smile.gif hrmm......... when Myvi and Savvy were released, my favor goes to Myvi but heck till now i sat in Myvi so many times i've yet to drive it or sat on it when moving. biggrin.gif but i couldn't care really, i tested Savvy also because of AMT - nothing else.

EDITED : btw i went upclose and personal with the new face-lifted Savvy today. nice!!!.
