1. Preferred Brand- Any except Asus and HP
2. Budget-Maximum 3.3k
3. Usage- Only Dota 2 and engineering course/study
4. Preferred laptop/screen size 12"- 14" light weight and portable
*
Definitely the y410p man brows.gif
14"
Lenovo Y410p, i7-4700MQ + GT750M(GDDR5)@RM2899, 8GB, 1TB, W8, red backlit, 120w psu, swappable ODD, 2 years warranty

The GPU would be very overkilled for Dota 2, but depending on the subjects of your course, it might come in handy. Same goes to the i7 CPU also~
Whether it is considered light or portable though depends on you laugh.gif

the battery life also improved right? compare to 400.
i scare abit cos this is the first batch of haswell lap from lenovo.... sad.gif
HMMM i add a SSD it will be around 3k+- which is really best bang for buck cool2.gif
*
With Nvidia Optimus (or GPU switch), the battery life will be better than the Y400 nod.gif
The new processors will be fine, no worries happy.gif

Yeah, wise choice adding in an SSD, that will reduce loadtimes, heat and weight thumbup.gif

1. Preferred Brand - Asus or Lenovo only
2. Budget - budget constraint, not more than RM2k
3. Usage - gaming!! and work ~
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 14

and if possible, please suggest a laptop with numpad on its keyboard, if it is within my budget..

Thank you, sir
*
Err... apart from the Fujistu LH772, almost all 14" notebooks don't have numpad. You are going to have to consider 15" or larger notebooks if you strictly want a numpad.
Also, mind sharing your definition of "work"? Office work or professional work i.e. rendering/ photoshop etc.? icon_rolleyes.gif

Hey thanks for the advise. However, it slightly heavy and would be hassle for travel. How about ultrabook? Such as U410?
*
If strictly Lenovo and need to be portable, then you only have the Z400 to consider nod.gif
14"
Lenovo Z400, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT740M@RM2099, 4GB, 1TB, W8; 2 years warranty; colors: chocolate

Use the remaining budget to extend warranty to 3 years, and upgrade RAM to 8GB, and HDD to SSD icon_rolleyes.gif

Similarly, the Lenovo Z400 would be a good pick if you want both performance and portability.

Lenovo Z400, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT740M@RM2099, 4GB, 1TB, W8; 2 years warranty; colors: chocolate

Can consider these as well if you don't mind the weaker processor (but longer battery life and warranty coverage)
14"
Asus [Ultrabook]K46CB-WX060H, i5-3337U + Nvidia GT740M@RM2199[2kg], 2GB, 750GB, W8, 4-cell, OD

The weight is acceptable ...
Is it possible to get bigger screen with the weight mentioned?what the price?
how about the battery life?how many hour for operate.

Is it acer brand prefer?
Acer Aspire P3 good or not?below Rm2k
*
Nope it is not possible to get a bigger screen and weight at that price unfortunately hmm.gif
Battery life is an approximate 3 hours or so for the Asus (due to small battery capacity), and perhaps up to 4-5 hours on the Lenovo E130 and Yoga 11s.

The P3 is reported to be 0.79kg in weight, though I think it is only referring to the tablet, regardless it is a pretty good choice there too, with SSD some more. Sorry for missing out on that one sweat.gif

good day everyone,
im looking to buy a new laptop and my budget is 4.5+-100 max.

currently looking at lenovo ideapad Y500 with sli config, MSI GE60 2OE and illegear RE 15.

still can decide for my self. any pros and cons.

which one you think is better?
*
The RE-15 is the better choice man laugh.gif especially so if you are putting in an SSD. Otherwise, the GE60 can also be considered as well~
THe GE60 and RE15 are both "true" gaming machines, can't really go wrong with them rclxms.gif

1. Preferred Brand: any will do
2. Budget: 2k to 3k
3. Usage: fb, musics, movies, codings (netbeans?)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: ultrabook preferred with screen size 13/14 inch, better with full HD, weight less than 2kg.
*
There are no 13/14" ultrabook with FHD within RM3k sad.gif

If you don't mind the smaller size, then can consider thsese:
10"
Microsoft
Surface Pro, i5-3317U + Intel HD4000 + (1920x1080;touch) + 64GB SSD@RM2749[680g], 4GB, W8P
Surface Pro, i5-3317U + Intel HD4000 + (1920x1080;touch) + 128GB SSD@RM3049[680g], 4GB, W8P

Otherwise you will have to stick to 1366x768, or up your budget to around RM4k nod.gif

If its up to me, I'd take either the MSI GE60 or Illegear RS-15 nod.gif
The MSI is a pretty good choice for your budget, with 2 years warranty nod.gif
You won't be able to get a lot out of customizing the RS-15 with a RM4k budget I'm afraid (unless if you plan to go FreeDOS/ Unix). And at best you can only afford 1 year warranty hmm.gif
