Appreciate the suggestions. I've gone through some of the Lenovos models and they are pretty amazing (in terms of specs:price ratio) especially the Z500 & Y400 models. But do they heat up badly? Do I have to worry about their temperatures?

for Y400, you dont have to worry much about the temperatures, as the thickness of the laptop itself helps the ventilation. however, the Z500 is an exception. it is not suitable for long hours gaming, as the thinness traps heat easily.

Thanks this is really helpful. I am "almost" made up my mind to buy the Y400 W8 one. Hehe. Still looking for other options though.

and usually 13" laptop not much equipped with nice discrete GC and afraid the heat can not dissipate well

Professional usage (ie, using this laptop to make a living smile.gif ) ?
You may still find light weight (< 2kg) in 14", but anything 15 / 17" is most probably > 3kg (excluding power adapter etc).

The obvious will be these:
Apple
MacBookPro 15", i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT650M + (1440x900)@RM5499[2.56kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), backlit keyboard, Mac OSX
MacBookPro 15", i7-3720QM + Nvidia GT650M + (1440x900)@RM6799[2.56kg], 8GB, 750GB(5400rpm), backlit keyboard, Mac OSX
MacBookPro 15" (Retina Display), i7-3610QM + Nvidia GT650M + 256GB SSD + (2880x1800)@RM6799[2.02kg], 8GB, backlit keyboard, Mac OSX

Other than the models that devour sifu mentioned, you may also want to consider these:

www.illegear.com
Illegear RE-15, i7-4700MQ + Nvidia GTX765M + (1920x1080;matte)@RM3599[Onkyo], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), FreeDOS [CPU Options: i7-4700MQ - i7-4900MQ][/color]
Illegear RS-15, i7-4700MQ + Nvidia GTX770M + (1920x1080;matte)@RM5499[Onkyo][3.1kg], 4GB, 500GB(5400rpm), FreeDOS [CPU Options: i7-4700MQ - i7-4930MX][GPU options: Nvidia GTX780M, AMD HD8970M]

Don't be put off by the gamers-centric theme of the company / website.
The laptops that they sell are totally customisable.
You will get the latest Haswell CPU. i7 is good for your usage. Those Nvidia GTX7xxM GPU is good for you as well. You can opt for the 95% NTSC gamut matte screen (and illegear throw in free professional colour calibration from time to time, especially promotion during festive season, the Hari Raya one should be coming smile.gif ). Put in a high capacity SSD (512GB), OS (W8 or W7), it should still be within your budget. And if you are in Klang Valley or certain cities, they offer on-site warranty service (extend to 3 years if you still have the budget).

You may PM Prince J right here in LYN (he is from illegear).

Hey man haha, nice to see you here notworthy.gif

Well, if you don't game (assuming your light gaming = FB games etc.), then there are a lot of choices:
13"
Acer
[Ultrabook] Aspire S5-391-53314G12, i5-3317U + Intel HD4000 + 128GB SSD@RM3499[1.2kg], W7HP
[Ultrabook] Aspire S7-391-53314G12, i5-3317U + Intel HD4000 + 128GB SSD + (1920x1080; touch)@RM3799, 4GB, W8

Asus
[Ultrabook] UX31A-C4059, i5-3337U + Intel HD4000 + 128GB SSD + (1920 x 1080; touch)@RM3799[1.3kg], 4GB, W8
[Ultrabook] UX31A-R4005H, i5-3317U + Intel HD4000 + 128GB SSD + (1920 x 1080)@RM3599[1.3kg], 4GB, W8

Dell
[Ultrabook] XPS13, i5-3337U + Intel HD4000 + 128GB SSD@RM3399[1.36kg], 4GB, W8, backlit

HP
[Ultrabook] Envy SpectreXT 13-2215TU, i5-3317U + Intel HD4000 + 128GB SSD@RM2899[1.39kg], 4GB, W8,backlit keyboard

Lenovo
[ultrabook]IdeaPad Yoga 13, i5-3337U + Intel HD4000 + 128GB SSD@RM3399, 4GB, 2 years; colors: grey/orange

Sony
[Ultrabook] Vaio SVT13133CVS, i5-3337U + Intel HD4000 + (1366x768; touch) + (24GB SSD + 500GBHDD)@RM2799[1.6kg], 4GB, W8; color: silver; Vaio carrying case
[Ultrabook] Vaio SVT13126CVS, i5-3317U + Intel HD4000 + (1366x768;touch) + 128GB SSD@RM2899[1.66kg], 4GB, W8; color: silver; Vaio carrying case
[Ultrabook] Vaio SVT13136CVS, i5-3337U + Intel HD4000 + (1366x768;touch) + 128GB SSD@RM2999[1.66kg], 4GB, W8; color: silver; Vaio carrying case

Toshiba [Ultrabook] Portégé Z930-2035, i5-3337U + Intel HD4000 + 128GB SSD@RM3799[1.12kg], W8, 6GB, 3 years warranty (1st year on-site)

* Prices in RRP, negotiable icon_rolleyes.gif
* the Toshiba Z930 is the lightest among the lot, but the keyboard buttons are really shallow, might be painful after prolong usage.
* My vote will be on the Dell XPS 13 since it is voted as one of the best ultrabooks out there. Use remaining budget for warranty extension to 3 years complete cover. You can expect quality as good as Apple's.
If you want a FullHD variant of the XPS13 , can consider this too:
13"
Dell [Ultrabook] XPS13, i5-3337U + Intel HD4000 + 256GB SSD + (1920x1080)@RM4299[1.36kg], 8GB, W8, backlit

*shouldn't be a problem to get one within RM4k, but you won't have any money left for warranty extension
