Pardon my ignorance. What does W8SL means?

For the dell inspiron 14R, will the performance be further improve if i max out the ram? what is the max ram that i can put into that machine and what is the current price?

another thing, how much discount we can get normally?

Windows 8 Single Language icon_rolleyes.gif

Usually 4-8GB RAM will be good enough nod.gif
Upgrading the HDD to SSD will bring about more significant performance boost. But then SSDs are not cheap laugh.gif

For a budget of RM2.5k... you should be able to bargain up to RM100 if you're good

Ivy Bridge - the generation of Intel CPU that carry i3/5/7-3xxxx.
Haswell - the newer generation of Intel CPU that carry i3/5/7-4xxxx. Main feature - improve battery running time a lot.

Do you mean this one?
N56VB-S3070H, i5-3230M + Nvidia GT740M@RM2899[/b][2.7kg][B&O], 4GB, 750GB, W8

1 thing I forgot to mention, gaming performance depends a lot on the resolution that you play in.
For Guild Wars 2, if you play at FHD (1920x1080), at medium setting, you need a really powerful GPU.
If you play at HD (1366x768), at medium setting, you can make do with a lot less tongue.gif with GT740M, can expect ~ 40fps.
*
Yes, that's the one I'm referring to. I was away yesterday, so could only check what resolution I use on my PC today. I run GW2 at 1440 x 900... uhm, not quite sure how that fits in? By HD you mean high definition, I take it? *ponders* Improved battery running time sounds good, as I may have to travel semi-frequently work-wise...

Looking for a gaming laptop with a good cooling system and can run those demanding games (those with GTX780M maybe?)

1. Preferred Brand - Any with good repair/after-sales service. Moving to the UK this September. Just in the unfortunate case where something bad happens to the laptop.
2. Budget - <RM9K
3. Usage - Gaming, Multimedia
4. Preferred laptop/screen size - 14"-17"

Newer generation-ed notebooks come with much weaker processor at that price range unfortunately.. so there's not really a lot to choose from

I still think the 1st one (in my previous post) is better, with plenty of budget left for you to really upgrade your SSD configurations
You are paying a lot of extras for the 2nd, especially the Bluray writer hmm.gif

Still, if you are not interested in upgrading yourself, then just go for the 2nd one since you have the budget and need it in a hurry

If i do buy Illegear, what about the after-sales service after I move? It is Malaysian based right ?
