Have you any of you guys ever sent their phone at Sony's service center in Plaza Berjaya near Lowyat Plaza ? If you have,how was the service?

since is HQ..should have the best service...
i head many say their service is the best among other sc..

Check Whatsapp under Settings > Apps to see whether "Show Notifications" option is ticked.

i wan a flexible case so that i can easily take it off everyday for charging with my dock

hmm im having this problem on the XZ too.. but its not really a problem
its because the phone went to "sleep" mode after you turn off the screen after an amount of time.

if you observe closely:

1. msg your friend
2. make him/her reply like 30 minutes later
3. lets assume 1pm, you tell him/her to reply you at 1.30pm
4. lock your phone and leave it idle (assuming 1.05pm after typing your message) (lets say your device checks it every 15 minutes.. 1.20pm, 1.35pm, 1.50pm)
5. you'll receive it around 1.35pm - 1.45pm

the phone checks for push notifications/activities every 15 minutes or so with wifi/data on..

your active connection will cut off (but you'll still see it as connected on your status bar) to save battery but it'll check for activities every 10-15 minutes once.

i forgot what's the term to search on google, but they explained this is how android handles your connectivity.

there's an app to reduce the waiting time too. (which i forgot the name of the app as well )
needs root tho.

a work around for wifi connectivity

1. Settings -> Wifi -> Advanced Menu
2. Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep -> Change to "ALWAYS"

but i wouldnt recommend it though (but hey.. that's just me.. cuz i dont care if i receive my msg's late )
if its important they should call you instead

Hello, new ZL user reporting in. Bought the black unit. First day of buying it, I thought I got a lemon copy, as the front earphone speaker seems to be not working. Have to switch the phone to handsfree / looudspeaker mode in order for me to hear what the caller is saying. Then, for dunno what reason, on the 2nd day, it miraculously worked! Anyone experienced this before?

I tried factory reset the phone (twice!) and upgraded the firmware to 4.2.2, also no use. Then the next day, it suddenly works. Weird......

Oh... But connected with USB otg sure drain battery right.. Plan to buy sony ps3 wireless controller.. Rm189. Then can use charge phone while playing game..

For the guy on Honami with the problem when he playing the Walkman and lockscreen causes the problem like jumpy upon powering up the lock screen

Well I narrow down to what causes on my Z Honami port
I have install the Smart key app from Sony and the 1st option causes this problem
The receiving call and idle option don't make the problem
Even when the playing option is left with "no action" setting
The problem persist

As the smart key app is quite nice

Planning to sell off my zl but cant find a goot 5" phone that can gv good battery stamina like Xperia zl.

STAMINA mode has saved me many times. When I'm at 2-5% in desperate moments, I just shut off the screen and I know when I put it on again it'll be at 2-5% or whatever. No issues whatsoever!

after a series of lagginess i experienced after update to 4.2.2 then i decided to reformat it again. and now it performs at its finest. no lagging except viewing albums and large content. happiness for me

one thing i noticed among the features that the 4.2.2 dont have is to end a call by pressing power button. sadly its quite troublesome since i'm using flip case so i have to open the cover to end calls.. any 3rd party call manager can do so?

i didn't touch that setting at all..all the time 'show notification' is ticked

0oo..later i will try..now all my whatsapp friend sleep already

Doesn't the phone automatically ends the call when the other party hangs up ?

yea it does unless if the caller dont end the call properly then the call is still active. last time after every calls i usually press the power button to make sure the call ended and the beep sound indicates that. but now i have to open case cover to make sure the call ends.

Maybe 4.2.2 is causing it. I have wipe it already but still encountered this issue.

yup using this now. i am on a white 1. easy to take off as i charge using the dock too. can easily get it in mid valley connect shop at rm79 if not mistaken

.... but not when modern day consumer electronics are concerned.
