are you planning to make EVERYTHING small scaled? including the system?
if yes:

1. download any root explorer
2. navigate to system/build.prop -> edit it (make sure its r/w)
3. scroll to the bottom and find the line with "ro.sf.lcd_density = 480" change the value to 360
4. save and exit -> reboot

(note: if you are paranoid/phobia, just do a nandroid backup.. incase you misunderstood the step)

messaging = 320DPI, 600x1024, tablet
calculator = 480DPI, default reso. no tablet
calendar (my preference) = 240DPI, 600x1024, ticked "tablet"
google play = 240DPI, 800x1280, tablet
chrome/aosp browser = 360DPI, 600x1024, no tablet (chrome might need to tick)
gmail = 360DPI, 800x1280, tablet

save it/force stop/start the app again.. then it should change

your dialer will be off-position a little (unless you dont mind) but you can install ex-dialer, its a much better dialer compared to stock (and closest to sony's experience with a little added features/shortcuts)

got any app to enable tapping to unlock? saw the thread on XDA but it was reported as buggy.

anyone know how to make the browser (chrome,Firefox,etc) into tablet browser version where u got the back button at the address bar? chrome in my iPhone 5 got back button at the address bar. I wonder why on my tablet z got the back button at the address bar but not in xperia z? anyone know how to make it or set It?

just updated my xz using spcc to 4.2.2
looks great but noticed that there some camera start delay & in game lagg.

anyway, just set the resolution -> save then force stop the app -> restart the app, and see if its changed to tablet mode.

the red is very tempting when i held it.
but the finishing is like the white, smooth metallic looking plastic for the back.
if it had the grippy texture of the black, sure i'll be having a red right now.
