QUOTE(krynzpeaches @ Dec 6 2007, 02:44 PM)
A cat lover will not care if the cat is kucing kampung or what and will provide only the best for it.

My friend has 3 kucing kampung. Vaccinate every year. All neutered. Feeding on Royal Canin.

Mine is also a kucing kampung (truly from kampung all the way from Kelantan summore juz got mix a bit smile.gif ) He is following his appointed medical schedule and I feed him Orijen (considering to alternate with Science Plan soon)

It doesn't matter what breed if you love cats wink.gif

I hope your kittens will get a good home smile.gif

I agree with this. All my 5 cats are also picked up by the roadside... going for vaccination will at least provide them some immune system they need rather than they always fall sick, then only bring to vet. That time, lagi waste time and money. rolleyes.gif

If can afford, then can go to nicer clinic, if can't then just drop by those government clinic where my neighbour always bring some strays there too...

yes some cat dont have problem.

there is one time i pissed off this this lady. i was telling her a story about whiskas and frieskies harm my male kitten until dapat gallstone block his urine. i do not blame whiskas/frieskies cos i know my friends give this food to their kucing kampung and no problem at all. and that lady also feed her cats and kittens with whiskas.

out of sudden she say "alah kucing kamu tu pendek umur, jangan salah kan makanan"... i was pissed off - and say i gtg run now. lucky she is older than me.

you see... how dare she said my kitten is pendek umur!!! im not blaming the food anyway. in my heart, i say - "who she think she is? god ah?" sweat.gif

i usually go to the government vet in cheras. not bad.. when i come, mesti ada those people training to be a pet nurse. so i tengok lah dorang training n kerja. very interesting smile.gif

if go to private vet, the best part it, you can ask anything - even chatting with them if no other customer. government vet very hard to do this, cos they are all busy. no time to chit chat longer tongue.gif

ya RC/SP/Iams/Orijen price difference is about 40-60, and ofcourse different price different kg. the bigger pack u getting, the cheaper it will be smile.gif

example like...i can get iams adult for rm118 (9kg), and RC persian rm150-rm170 (10kg)

and ofcource the more cats u have, u will have to choose the reasonable one. like my cats eat 9kg iams for 22 days.

there's one product they said cheap and good, smartheard if im not mistaken. my cats like it but the fur will fall everywhere. so i stop.

as for whiskas and friskies, my kucing kampung pernah makan ni, about 4 months my male cat kena batu karang, kencing berdarah sad.gif gosh the vets ask me to stop giving that. i quit that, and give iams kitten and everything goes back to normal. he just took anti biotic cos not yet critical.

Yeap, have to calculate how many kg too... In the end, the difference is really small smile.gif

i.e: 2.5kg Orijen, RM50.00 and 2kg Science Plan RM40.00 (to make it 2.5kg, add another pack of 400g SP is RM10.00) So end up sama aje tongue.gif

Oh, that brand called "Smartheart"... That brand seems dodgy to me tongue.gif Looks like another Whiskas/Friskies...

I cannot tahan if the fur fall everywhere, I sure die one tongue.gif So far with Orijen, not much fur flying at all smile.gif And yes, he eats very little of it only, but is growing a big belly already tongue.gif

I think those cheaper brands appeal more to cats because of the flavoring and such. I agree that some cats will prefer those cheaper ones than a really good quality one...

Same as mine. My Stuart had it once.... I was so sad, cry.gif not only me, my whole family was. It was in October 2005.

Everytime when I visited Stuart in the vet, i will surely cry. cry.gif I just can't bear to see him like that... not sure how painful it is... goodnessss.... sweat.gif

yea be a smart buyer in choosing cat food. get the premium one.

the good part of orijen and innova evo, expensive but they eat less because of the high protein. 40% right?

about that lady.. my friend ask me to bake special cake for her, with 50% whiskas as ingredient, and send to her house without any tracking address ahahahah.. just pun in package infront the door. but its old story, i never visited her again. pity the cats to be with such owner.

Yeah. That day emergency out of Orijen and couldn't leave office early so the shop was closed, got hold of Science Plan... Now already got Orijen and my husband keep on complaining why is he eating less compared to SP that day?

I said, leave it be, he will eat it and it's good stuff for him anyway tongue.gif

It's 45% protein smile.gif

I also like the fact that they include vege ingredients in it, so it is a wholesome balance food for cat/kitten wink.gif

Ohh, I like your friends' idea! rclxms.gif I think she'd love the cake till the last crumbs tongue.gif

It's a joy to have furkids in the house. Oh well, sometimes can also cause us to have high blood pressure if they are too naughty... rclxub.gif Hehehe, and i love to see my mom holding the cane around the house nowadays to scare them when they are too naughty... Orijen? hmmmm not sure if i come across this brand, maybe when i look at the packaging, i will know, hehehe coz i'm hard at remembering names sweat.gif

As for me, i'm using Eagle Pack holistic all the while. There was once, i tried to mix Iams for my cats so that they will have more mixture of nutrition... but they vomit it out... I tried it for weeks... they still keep vomitting... not so sure why... so just forget about it la... Now only feeding pure Eagle Pack only.

As for my Stuart boy, he will have his "special" diet food coz of the crystal he had before. I never wanna change other food for him as long as he is healthy.

Actually, if you compare Orijen to RC or Science Plan or even iams, the price is almost the same! Initially I wanted to give him iams, since it is slightly better compared to Whiskas and Friskies... But when I did a rough calculation, the difference is very little between all this... Then between RC and Science Plan, Orijen is made from human grade ingredient, actual chicken meat, high in protein and contains NO wheat or gluten... That's why I just went for Orijen wink.gif

I've always preferred short hair (kucing kampung) type... But typically my husband likes long hair... Had a row of argument, before keeping Oren, cuz I didn't want even a semi long hair, short hair is the best to me tongue.gif

In the end Oren grew to me too... But I do feel like snipping of his hair sometimes laugh.gif

ps - Cool siggy! Too bad I can't use it or else will exceed my maximum siggy height wink.gif

Ohh, Eagle Pack! Holistic food! That's really great smile.gif

Yeah, Orijen is only found/sold at bigger pet shops or boutiques only, even the vet does not carry this brand... I think, where there is Eagle Pack sold, there is Orijen wink.gif Well, that's so far my findings smile.gif

Another type of holistic food which they say is good is the Azmira range... But sadly, it's not available anymore here due to the lack of interest from people...

I think Eagle Pack is slightly more expensive than Orijen. However, I don't think that RM160 is for a small pack, I'm sure it's a pack of 5kg above smile.gif

Past few days i was just thinking to change from royal canin to friskies so i can save some money.
Thanks to u all for refreshing my memory about the batu karang. forgotten about the issue already.
Next time, i'm going for Orijen. The largest pack (7kg) is a little cheaper (price/kg) than royal canin kitten i'm giving now & BETTER quality (45% vs 34% protein) smile.gif

Uii, from RC to Friskies??

Don't lar...

Yeah, I found that RC (esp kitten) is actually slightly pricey than Orijen... If you get Orijen from the right place, you can get discounts and you can save from there too smile.gif
