The hate comes from people who a). are purists who want a 100% Okawara accurate Wing Zero and b). Hate Hajmi Katoki's redesigns in general. I saw a similar thing with Nu Gundam ver ka when it was announced, cause people hated how Katoki added more detail to the original Nu Gundam design.

this is not directed at u but i figure this is a good segue to voice the following:

the whole idea of purist is pretty stupid to me. There r no model kit that is 100% accurate, just take a closer look n u would notice there r panel lines not featured in the show, tick marks not featured in the show, proportion not entirely accurate to the show, the moment u put on the decals already makes it different from the show, heck even the show is inconsistent with itself. Remember Epyon's vulcan? Bandai often takes liberty on certain things, joint for instance incorporated armor spliting or some clever mechanism non existent in the show to give it better range of movement yet i dun hear all u purist complaining.

it is disheartening when a good kit was hated base purely on its appearance and ultimately hampering its sale figures. Epyon EW for instance its 1 of the best kit of 2011, 1 of the more solid (if not the most solid) transformable kit out there with tons of posability options, good articulation coupled with sliding wing gimmick and a set of unique weapons. The whip is 1 of the most amazing weapon out there, pose it whereever u wan however u wan and the blade is highly detailed with added bonus of glowing under black light gimmick. Yet bunch of purist go "Hurdur its not the tv version blablabla sucks blablabla not okawara hurdurdur katoki ruin my childhood".

If all u purist wan to condemn something base purely on its appearance then u hav to be consistent and condemn all of em else u r nothing more then a bunch of hypocrite whose opinion r worth less then a gain of salt.

Good point there, Epyon was a great transformable kit but underrated or even hated by many people.

Purist shouldn't collect gunpla in the first place because I don't see model kit that suitable for them.
1. SD obviously off proportion with tiny body, big head.
2. HG lack of detail or non accurate color compare to tv show.
3. RG/MG over detail with many panel lines that not in the show.
4. PG have closer proportion to anime but many details and gimmicks don't even appear in the show.
Shall they quit gunpla now? smile.gif

chill out, everyone have right to love/hate
for me Epyon EW is already best kit but the proportion is turn off(not fit with agile and fast image for Epyon in anime)

sure u can say u dun like its look and choose not to purchase it i can understand that but cant ppl be objective and giv it props for what it did right? downright writing it off and keep on bashing it just from looks alone is pure stupidity and ive seen plenty with such mentality. If the kit has technical flaws then yes it deserve to be mock but when a kit is perfectly fine, great even, yet being hated on and ultimately influencing other less inform from ever trying it out just by listening to these idiots is really bad to the hobby as a whole.

Yup, everyone have their own taste/preference.
If you don't like just keep silent, but too bad many people not like that, they prefer to insult those who like the model that they hate. Saw a lot of stupid comments on gundamguy blogspot for the hot topic "Unicorn Fenix".

But purist is totally another thing, they want to get exactly what in the show. If not the same thing from TV show, then those purist will start yelling on designer, bandai, or other collector that like it. Is that possible to get 100% from TV show? I should say no right... That's why Admiral pointed them out.

if proportion is in question
I am thankful that Zaku 2.0 does not follow the original design, that would be lolworthy (although GA is selling 1/60 Zaku for MYR 80.00 last time I check)
or the 1.0 design, something about the big feet bugs me (and the Zaku machinegun, and the lower arms, and the spike shield proportion, etc)

regardless, those pesky fodder are cute IMO wub.gif
yes the green one, red is too glaring laugh.gif

personally I think because of Bandai's milking(or remold) attitude
people tend to hating the kit because they dont want to spend their money on useless stuff so all they can do is giving bad comments

same thing happen when Bandai announced 3.0 RX-78-2
I can feels those people.. yeah
there are lots of mobile suit still need to release in gunpla form rather than remilk same mobile suit all over again

Milking HG kit are forgivable, but please don't milk MG kit. There are many kit deserve MG line, but too bad this year no MG kit that attract me...
