i think those purist are being quite unreasonable, to be honest.. they're hating just because it's not 100% accurate, regardless whether or not that model is the one they have been asking for over and over again

and just to echo your sentiments, i think MG Epyon really is one of the best kits of that year, proportion-wise, a bit wonky, hoping it was more RD style proportion, but that's minor compared to what the kit offered after we were crying over and over again for an Epyon.. people need to stop hating on designs and look at something for what it is, and i'm seeing that Wing Zero as the TV ver i've wanted for so many years, and i have no complaints

granted, personally i have been biased towards models with the katoki touch.. i think he makes them so much more detailed and gives them more to offer

the funniest example would be RX-78-2's MGs
when MG RX-78-2 1.5 came out, 'purists' complain it ain't accurate, details too overload, etc
then when Bandai made 2.0, people complain it's too plain and boring
so now back to 3.0, wonder what those 'purists' will say again sweat.gif

design will change over time, progress, if you will
no one thing is subjected to one old design and be that until aeons to come
if that occurs, surely it will only satisfies certain niche of the population

and with the newer audience, the design team ought to catch up with the latest design to appeal to the public, so to speak

this

bandai is a company, and companies in general will pick whatever appeals to the majority of the market... no one ever maximized their earnings by targetting the minority and they never will

New to collecting gunpla(not really). I don't know if this is the right thread to post & ask. If no, I'm sorry.

Here my story. I collect gundam when I was in school. During that time, I manage to turn my best friend to gundam lover. Well, since I still in school, only afford to buy after raya. Collected about 10 gundam action figure. When I was 16, I entered boarding school. Stay there for 3 months without going back home. When I come back home, all gundam broken. My niece and nephew. :'(

It's been years. 10 years maybe. Remember my best friend? A few months ago, he give me this third party gundam model. Try to assemble. Just like vanPersie said, the little boy in me screamed to collect gundam back. Been collecting since then. Only got like 12 for now. All 1/144. I don't like big toys.

Now, for the question. What gundam I MUST HAVE in my collection? And I only collect 1/144 scale, well for now. Like what gundam all gundam collector MUST HAVE?

Thank you, and sorry if this is posted in wrong thread.

That all depends on what mobile suits you like. Do you have a Gundam series that you prefer?

I don't really watch them, but I love wing. I i love bulky look gundam. Like Sazabi, Sinanju, The O, Qubeley, Kshatriya. I have OO Raiser. Have to say kinda not like it since its kind of skinny. And I love ReZEL Type-C so much.

If you love Wing then you're probably gonna want to get over your "1/144" thing quick. Wing's best model kits are all in MG 1/100 form. Also, Wing Zero TV version is coming to Master Grade this October:

Already have it. Nah, not too complicated compared to HG. I must say, it easier since all the internal part already joint together. RG just launch right? Want to wait for more model. Just have 1 RG at the moment. The Destiny gundam. But rg really are tough. Suitable if really want to play with them.

gundam.my, it's a bit more expensive, probably around RM10+ or so only, at least not the super insane ones like some shops tongue.gif
but since i see your location is perak, probably that is the best alternative for you, or take a trip down to KL one day, go to times square, and hope u brought a lorry tongue.gif

For 1/144 you shouldn't miss out RG line up, they have great details and little gimmick.
I think UC series is suitable for you because they more bulky, they have have more details compared to other HG kit. smile.gif
Try check out LYN tradezone or google search for other online hobby shop, their price should be cheaper than gundam.my
