thanks for the attachments...

anyway, what do you guys think of the car wash from Kia servicing? Are they clean? Do they use microfiber cloth? Do they change the cloth frequently?

normally i dont send my car for road side car wash cause it causes swirls on the paint if uses dirty cloth... if its a sub-par car wash then i will ask them not to wash there... maybe vacuum only.. hehe...

Does Cerato really received 5 star rating from NHTSA?
I see Kia claim it in their brochure.
And also article from Pol Tan.

But I can't find any other related topic in Google.
Weird.

It was mentioned in the Global NCAP news.
Link: http://www.globalncap.org/News/News_archiv...ondaAccord.aspx

Here are part of the news.

ANCAP today released safety ratings for two popular models, each from global manufacturers. A 5 star ANCAP safety rating was awarded to the new Kia Cerato, while the recently released Honda Accord achieved only a 4 star ANCAP safety rating.

The 5 star ANCAP safety rating awarded to the Kia Cerato applies to all variants - sedans and hatches. The Cerato passenger compartment held its shape well in the frontal offset test with pedal and steering wheel displacements well controlled. Driver and passenger contact with the airbags was stable and all doors remained closed during the crash. Good protection was provided for the driver in both side impact and whiplash tests.

While performing well in the side impact and pedestrian tests, the Honda Accord fell short in the foundation frontal offset crash test. This meant the Accord did not achieve enough points to be eligible for a 5 star ANCAP safety rating. The Accord's main shortfall was an elevated risk of injury to the lower legs of the driver.

"The Accord result is disappointing," said Mr McIntosh.

Search for Kia Forte, the name used in US.

Overall: 4 Stars
Frontal: 3 Stars
Side: 5 Stars
Rollover: 4 Stars

But the specs in the test car and here might be different.

whatever result cerato achieved in NTHSA or ANCAP testing is the one u going to get in malaysia since all cerato sharing the same platform and safety spec..... sometime those crash test is very subjective... like the 9th gen honda accord....performed excellently in NTHSA crash test yet failed to score 5 stars in ANCAP...

malaysia has the same spec as the US version except for some minor accessories and the engine is 1.8 and 2.0. So you will get the same results anywhere. Unlike accord/civic/altis, where malaysia gets the tone down version eg, less airbags,no esp.. then both the US and Malaysia specs cannot be compared 1 to 1. This is where everyone gets it wrong.
Yeah..NHTSA should be removed tongue.gif laugh.gif

1.6 and 1.6, kia more powerful because the engine is a slight upgrade from the hyundai's engine. i think due to D-cvvt added to the kia engine. but u get 6 airbags. thumbup.gif

There are couples of things not available in malaysia cerato as well, which i found and compared with my wife's cbu kia rio.
1- front passenser seat belt reminder not available in cerato
2- no auto wiper and rain sensor
3- halogen headlamp leveling not able to manual adjust in cerato.
4- cerato actually not yet tested by euro ncap yet and dun think it will test in euro ncap later. Only nhtsa and ANCAP result available. Rio score 5 star in euro ncap.

But those above mentioned not really so important for me. As long as got 6airbag, esc, is good enough. Comfort and power wise, cerato much better than rio....
