Dear SA. I am one of the owner for Cerato 1.6
When I purchased my car the SA informed me that my car is CBU. However when I get the grant, it is written CKB. I understand that there are 500 unit CBU cerato from Korea. May I know how to check whether my car is CKD or CBU? I got my car on 6 Sept 2013.

Thank you in advance.

Someone told me that Cerato actually CBU, but Naza claim it as as CKD, because they want to avoid tax.
True or not, I have no idea.

Yes, from the photos I shared previously, I believe it's the same bodykit.
But not sure about the materials.

Officially, it is "Pemasangan Tempatan" on the registration card. Actually it is Semi KD. The car is mainly assembled in Korea. Welding, painting done in Korea. Over here, they only fix on the doors, head lamps, rear combination lamps and other minor parts. Hope that clarifies for you.

Then if it's CKD, do you know what else will they do locally on the car?

For full CKD, majority of assembly will be done locally but parts are still mostly from Korea.

Cerato is well build inside out. Everything looks refine, but the ride just doesn't feel so compose. It needs a better and more rigid chassis. Just my opinion.

took a brief look on cerato, love it to every bit and actually, I do consider it! design is nice, spec is nice, and for those who claim underpower, I believe they are being a bit too harsh. Maybe I'm driving Myvi and Exora, so cerato is a huge upgrade for me if I' really getting it. tongue.gif

Just an advice. For those 1.6 owner who need to install leather seat cover, pls take note ur leather seat stitching need to comply with a global standard. There is a special airbag sewing machine and the side airbag stitching line is a special high strength line. This is to ensure airbag could be properly deployed without distortion. Pls do not simply find ah kaw or ah tan leather seat complany to do both of ur front seat cover. For ur safety, find a company that hv certificate to do that

hi guys, I just went to glenmarie kia showroom to test drive, but the sales person asked for the booking fee/deposit RM200 and can get refund if not interested within 1 week. I have paid the fee btw, but still considering.

Just wonder is this their current SOP now? must pay b4 test drive??

I already called to get refund, the guy say will prepare the refund by next week... I said i am coming this saturday and he asked me to call b4 going....

Hi all.... This has been few weeks, and I still haven't get back my refund. The sales guy keep on saying next week next week, until today he ask me to call admin in his office directly. After talk to admin, she told me the standard procedure to get back refund need to wait at least 1 month. huh. If the procedure is 1 month, how come the salesman can keep on give me empty promise ????

Can any KIA salesman please clarify these few things....
1) Could it be a scam? like they drag for a period, then customer cannot request for the refund anymore
1) I only asked for test drive, but sales guy asked for RM200 deposit, and promise can be refund in 1-2 weeks. Can I report him?? or lodge a case to KIA management??
2) Is it true that the refund process need to take more than 1 month?? test drive on 29 Sep, but base on admin, the refund process start from 8 Oct, so need to wait until 8 Nov?
3) Even admin has told me at least need to wait until after 8 Nov, just now my friend has call and scold the salesperson, he still said "no worry, can get refund by next week" (another empty promise??)

What can I do to get back the refund ASAP, don't want to waste my time anymore on this horrible experience

Test drive need to pay deposit?? Suck that SA who simply create empty booking for his sales record.

Email this to KIA HQ, report to them the incident you facing. This is what I did to Bermaz.

At the end, did the SA get punished? The reason I am unhappy is he keep on giving promise "next week next week". Now i lost my faith on every words he say...

If at the first place, he tell us need 1 mth to proceed then 100% I won't take that damn test drive!!

Btw do you send email or thru FB?

Sorry to hear about your predicament. From what I can gather, you must have done the test drive at a Naza branch and not a dealer. When it comes to refund, branches are less flexible as any outgoing cheques had to be signed by the big bosses, which normally takes time.

Did you get an official receipt when you pay that booking? If you have, then it's not a scam. Just be patient bro, I think it is just a matter of time before you get the cheque. If you still don't get it after 8 Nov, then you can contact customer careline at 03-2617 7666 to launch a complaint or write to them at cmd@naza.com.my. Just give the SA the benefit of doubt.

IF you are still keen in the Cerato at some stage in the near future, hope you can contact me? wink.gif
