QUOTE(Dbassnut @ Aug 22 2013, 11:52 AM) Ok, I just got an email from Ian Yong, PITH Komtar, Penang (official reseller for Lenovo in Penang). Price for a Y510P SLI, is RM3039. (I think kinda expensive) RAM still not sure if 1.5V or 1.35V but they say can use 1.5V RAM. For anyone who has a Y510P, could you check if your RAM is 1.35V or 1.5V? Thanks QUOTE(Dbassnut @ Aug 22 2013, 12:43 PM) Ok, I just talked to them, it is not the SLI version. Damm. Single GPU only. So its RM3039 for the non SLI Y510P & RM3999 for the SLI Y510P & they have no idea about what the RAM voltage is, wheter its the DDR3L(1.35V) or DDR3 (1.5V). can get the same price from Hikaru & she has a rebate (merdeka promotion) so its even cheaper.[attachmentid=3593752] QUOTE(ruztynail @ Aug 22 2013, 12:50 PM) pls use 1.35v.. not 1.5v. u'd get lots of problems later.. 1.35v is abit more exp.. i got mine 8gb for RM250. go for y500 sli chepo haha Lowyat now selling y510p single GPU between RM2950 - RM3000 QUOTE(matkim @ Aug 22 2013, 02:55 PM) sry to ask some question, is it possible if buying y410p with dual GPU or the other name SLi ...thanks what for sli? 14 inch 1080 wasted!!! |

Yes I am currently using 1.5v corsair 8gb DDR3 1600mhz ram in my Y510p, no problem and running perfectly fine, i do not believe and buy the fact that haswell have to stick with low voltage 1.35v ram, is just recommended but not compulsory

Do we need to use the same voltage ram for dual channel? |

QUOTE(nexus2238 @ Aug 23 2013, 01:34 AM) sifu, any comment about these threads? Dude, if the default ram for Haswell 's processor model came with 1.35v ram, you can pair with 1.5v with no problem, or else, 1.35v ram + 1.35v ram if you afraid, i tried couple times, put in 1.5 v ram + 1.5v ram for running 2 weeks, no problem at all after doing few test with couple to benchmark software http://forum.notebookreview.com/hardware-c...msata-ssds.html http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?3...ory-is-required! So far from what I read, it really depends on the specific Haswell CPU And has yet to come across Haswell spec laptop that come with 1.5v RAM out of factory Dont be too superstition on those forum-er claim, test it and read the Haswell Processor memory controller/ Architecture Manual . |

QUOTE(devour @ Aug 23 2013, 02:03 AM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Quote "Conclusion We set out at the start of this article to see how low voltage RAM compared to standard RAM. We can now confidently say that low voltage RAM fares very well against standard RAM. Versus RAM of the same frequency and timings, it performs just as well as standard RAM while reducing the overall power requirements by 2-3 watts per stick. This power reduction also allows to the RAM to run much cooler than standard RAM. While this did not translate into significantly lower CPU or GPU temperatures, anything that reduces heat without sacrificing performance is a good thing in our view. So what are the drawbacks of low voltage RAM? Certainly it cannot be all around better, or no one would ever buy anything other than low voltage RAM. First, low voltage RAM is slightly more expensive, with roughly a 10% premium (or about $4-5 per stick) at retail. The other thing about low voltage RAM is that there are reports that low voltage RAM does not overclock as well as standard RAM. If you can afford the extra couple of bucks and are not planning on overclocking your RAM, however, low voltage RAM is a great product and is something that almost all users should consider using in their computer system." http://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/...oltage-RAM-150/ This post has been edited by ruztynail: Aug 23 2013, 02:22 AM |

QUOTE(ruztynail @ Aug 23 2013, 02:15 AM) Ala why not just pay rm50 more for a peace of mind. No harm done right? Besides lower voltage ram will somewhat increase however small the batt hours per charge ma. Really wonder dah la the original factory ram is 1.35v. Lagi wanna put in a 1.5v... its like mixing half tank of ron 95 and half tank of ron 97. Know it works cause its still fuel but whats the rational? you getting wrong point , |

Kind of warm palm there... Tried run around half an hour Metro Last Light game directly shoot up more than 70 degree C, can feel the left hand burning hot.... Anyone having the same temperature issue? Am running on normal cooling pad too, plus standard ceiling fan room during midnight tim. This post has been edited by Blackpanthere: Aug 23 2013, 03:36 AM |
