I think next question would be....how to store all the things that you've built? Need to get a bigger house to store it. biggrin.gif

Just to share some of my recent hauls,  blush.gif

Need to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Alby. I am very grateful for this COD and thank you very much to all the gentlemen dilvin, zoomckng, & Mr. Alby that have helped to transfer the sets to my car.  notworthy.gif

It was indeed a great meet up. Thanks for the drinks and nice chat thumbup.gif

Btw, recently, I also got my first Achitecture series. My wish list got longer again. icon_question.gif
May I know anyone who is collecting?
Please share your experience on the series.

Thank you

Believe me, once you get hold on big sets you'll find it hard to resist it. Also you will find that building smaller sets has lesser kick and you will always be on a lookout for big sets purchases. Smaller sets maybe to just satisfy your hand itchiness lol. Now that you started the first modular, go get the rest before they EOL. Then move on to Advance series (Taj Mahal, Eifel Tower, Tower Bridge and soon to come Opera House hahaha)

normal battery, if use rechargeable will provide more current? btw other than changing the motor to XL, u did any other modification on it?, coz i plan to giv the rock crawler a diet, haha, i know defeat the purpose of rock crawler, but im opting for speed rather than torque

okies, will wait for ur xl motor to reach kl then haha, im just so excited if i can change it to XL, even right now i can see a considerable improvement after i play with the gears.

btw, u having any trouble using the gear on top of the car cabin for ur unimog to turn the front wheels? i think mine is quite hard, maybe due to the weight of the thing haha, i wonder how it will fare when i decide to motorized the steering n forward backward movement.

Read about rechargeable and alkaline battery at post #1241

Since you think the XL motor may make it go faster, read the link here and few other pages inside there.
Basically, no-load rpm

XL = 220rpm
Torque (before stalled) = 40Ncm

L = 390rpm
Torque = 18Ncm

Summary, XL rpm is reduced by half, and torque increase double. You need more gearing-up than your current L-motor setup, to get the current L-motor speed now.
Then, you need even more gearing-up to go faster than that. By that time, your XL motor will have torque equivalent to current (or lower), and the motor will stall again.

Read also the torque with loaded, at 7V and 9V. XL still has better torque (but not speed).

The point is, PF motors (XL, L, M) are not for speed. Best option is still the RC Buggy motor for speed.

Regarding 8110, I lazy to re-write, read about the 8110 here. It is a known design fault, watch the youtube video to understand the problem.

I think they made a typo. 6m model is super huge but looking at the picture it's more of a 6 feet model laugh.gif

How I wish they will have the X-Wing like the one displayed in New York City... That alone is worth a trip to LLM! nod.gif
