if you are building passenger train + 2 boxes of 7499, its still too small man. if you already have cargo + passenger and 2 boxes, still respectable a bit la. but for grand scale city with all modulars, cities, sea side/coastal etc, stations, u nid a lot of tracks... hahhahah... tongue.gif

So now it's back to train poison? hahahaha. Anyway bro Ultraman the great, count how many boxes of tracks you need then share with us. I want to have an estimation on how many boxes are needed brows.gif Then I can start drawing wahahaha

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Jun 17 2013, 05:04 PM)
... and I heard the 7499 Flexible and Straight Tracks, the flexible tracks are lousy/horrible. I got it from 7938, and the whole thing is like vibrating when the train pass over it. It is good for just a few short connections, but not for a continuous range >4-5 pieces.

Better to get 7896 Straight/Curved Tracks
icon_rolleyes.gif
*
The trick with the flexible tracks is to brace them. If you just lay them on the flat floor then they are bound to wiggle around when the train goes over them unlike the rigid straight/curve tracks. I'm assuming you have them laid on the floor rather than fixed on a baseplate or something similar... Once you have them set in a city layout then it shouldn't be a problem because the flexi tracks will be fixed to something, they are just too flimsy on their own... nod.gif

With 7896 you end up with too many extra curve tracks. In most city layouts you can only use so many curve tracks, what city builders miss most are straight tracks and Lego (being clever people they are) don't give many straight tracks in the train sets... If you take a look in BrickLink, Straight tracks are the most expensive, almost 3x the price of curved tracks. Flexi tracks can be had from RM0.60! lol! icon_rolleyes.gif

7936 Level Crossing used to be a cheap way of getting straight tracks but Lego realised that it was selling too well and affected the sales of 7896 and 7499 so it was discontinued.

QUOTE(Ultraman the great @ Jun 17 2013, 05:08 PM)
i think after you checked the prices of 7896.  whistling.gif then you will "make do" with 7499.  tongue.gif

Can also use the straight BrickLink 3228b wink.gif

The problem with flexi tracks, the gaps on the rail are quite big, and causes more serious rattles/vibration.
And each gap is like an inch away from each another doh.gif

Also, when pulling carriages from stop, it is easy to disconnect the rail-cars at the back due to the additional friction.

buy the train station set, use the 4x straight tracks and keep the other bricks for moc or build a bigger train station biggrin.gif

dammit. Lazada just cancelled my order for the Light house set for unknown reasons mad.gif vmad.gif
Wonder how they manage their stocks, seen this happened previously to other members. This is really poor service!

Hmmm perhaps too many people ordered because of the RM70 discount? I remembered the last incident was for AA.

but this Lighthouse is hard to find now sad.gif
AA will have to wait until I have a space to display tongue.gif

There's an option to ask for a full refund or turn my cancelled order into store credit.
I wonder how much will they give for the store credit? As per the items original price b4 the RM70 discount? or the final amount I paid after the discount? hmm.gif Gonna ask them n see. Hope it's not the latter, else it's just bad business practice from them
