Bro, can you confirm me this train route from Nagoya to Toyota Plant. I goggle the train route & found this:

From Nagoya station take train Toyokawa Line to Chiryu Station. Interchange at Chiryu Station to Mikawa Toyota Line to Mikawa Yatsuhashi. Possible to do this route?

Remember,  From Nagoya to Kozoji Station (Chuo Main Line) or Okazaki Station (Tokaido Main Line) are JR Line.  Your Jr rail pass will cover.

From Kozoji Station / Okazaki Station to Mikawa-Toyota Station by Aishi Loop Line will be Private Line company. Not cover by JR Rail Pass.

I mean January in Japan it should be,

Well my last travel with all those clothes were 4-5 years ago

10 Celsius to 0 Celsius not -10

Anyways, i think im just going to wear this

http://www.uniqlo.com/my/CPaGoods/itemcode=079668 + 1 or 2 t shirt inside

will be sufficient enough i think  tongue.gif

You totally need a winter jacket.

A parka will only work in 15c.

I myself can tahan cold weather alot but with a good winter jacket, it'll help in keeping you warm.

Like the other member say, when there's a chill wind, temp will drop from 1-5c.

1 more thing, colder winter in 4 seasons country is totally different than Genting's cold weather.

Good luck with the parka if you decide to get that!

Study more on Nansai Thru pass then you should know how good it was.  BTW other than Kansai Thru Pass...You need another Pass for JR train.

Late Jan and early Feb still Winter Season.  Too cold if you ride Roller Coaster.  The Chill wind will blow you away.
*
Okay thanks, i'll study more on the passes. But i dont understand what the pass meant by 24 hours starting from first train to last train in a day hmm.gif
One more thing, Arashiyama is good for all the scenic views and stuff, but if its winter wont the scenery be kind of dead? unless its covered in snow.
Is it still a good place to go?

those are not JR line...your JR rail pass will be invalied.

BTW , Mikawa-Toyota Station are on front on Main entrance of Toyota Plant. So Aishi Loop Line are most wise choice

Hi all,

Need a bit of advice. Will be going to Japan in early November.

Will be exploring Gifu area this time. Have made arrangements for Takayama and Shirakawa go. Will be staying in a Gassho in shirakawago.

However, am trying to find lodging (especially Maruhachi Ryokan) in Maze village but there doesn't seem to be any links that I can book via the web. My last resort would be to call direct to book but it's tough because of the language barrier.

Hope somebody here who might have been there can advise.

Thanks very much.

Lots of hotels are fully booked already. But managed to fine vacancy at Apa Hotel Namba-Shinsaibashi.

Anyone stayed there before? Would like to stay around that area.

Which day you are in Osaka? I just booked 4 nights in Dotonbori Hotel, Osaka on 14 Oct and cost me USD$323.

14 Oct is public holiday in japan and many hotels were booked out in that long weekend

APA hotel is Japan one of the Best Hotel Chain.

It similar to Dormy Inn & Toyoko Inn.

But this APA is even better by abit more

I'll be arriving on the 10th. Ya, i think it's because of the public holiday that the hotels are all booked.
When did you book your hotel? I was eyeing Dotonbori Hotel, but it was fully booked.

Thanks for the info. I've booked APA Hotel Namba through Japanican.

Not sure why, but rooms were only available through Japanican, but not through their own website or Agoda.
Hmm...

Never go Visit Japan when Japan are Public Holiday / Golden Holiday or Bon Odori times.

Those flight and train will fully booked. Some train mandatory need seat reservation. You will be Doom!!!!

I just finished booking few days ago. Kyoto was the hardest one for 2 nights because of the long weekend so I split into two hotels for two nights. That weekend is also Suzuka F1 GP so it will be more expensive too.
