To invest or not to invest? The eternal question
Investing is an individual decision. How you view the stock market depends on where you are in your earnings cycle and what your past experience has been.

I don't split between realised and unrealised gains/losses.

I bought into GEYF during 2008-09 (at 5.26% SC thru bank), sold all for quite a handsome profit (about 10% ROI).

Then 2010 when I moved to FSM I re-invest in it, but suffered a small loss.

Then recently in 2012 re-invest in GEYF again thru FSM.

The 10% IRR takes takes into account all of the above.

In a hindsight, should have remained invested throughout. smile.gif

Everybody is keeping on saying that the valuation or the PE is extremely low but there's NO convincing sign that the China market will rebounce stably.

I think he can still afford to do it till 6.5%. 6.5% is the hard landing point.

China dont allow foreigner to buy their A class shares. And most of the chinese company raise fund and eat back investor money. Very corrupt.

But then they know they are the powerhouse, so we dont really know what they are up to. Chinese citizen are getting richer in these past 5 years. But why investors are losing money in the past 5 years? Their corruption stories are alot darker than ours.
