Amongst the Good Ones,

Kaspersky Online Scanner
TrendMicro Online Scanner
Panda Online Scanner

Others, I am not sure.

For individual files, JottiScan would be good. Cheers!

Online Scanners don't have enough privilege to remove malware. They only detect, sadly.

But you can remove the junk manually. YAY. LOL. Cheers!

I disagree, they tend to remove it, and will abort if it can't be removed. smile.gif

Hi,

Could anyone recommend good antivirus that can run on Windows 2003 (server OS). I am using Symantec Antivirus, and I feel sick of it ... it is not good, and my system infected with the following virus, and symantec failed in cleaning them (with ease at least):

logo_1.exe and spoclsv.exe

hi,
you could try NOD32. their standard versions can run on server 2003. BTW, did you try to scan the infected file at Jotti's to confirm the name of the virus? Removal can be googled out once you have a confirmed name.

I tried Symantec Antivirus Corporate and it sucks because it uses a lot of resources and eat up my RAM..even at 1GB RAM.

Then I switched to NOD32.. Not satisfied yet, because NOD32 slowed down the process of copying or transferring files from/to your harddisk or portable hdd...

still looking / testing for other AV.

eTrust is definitely a no..because it doesnt detect many virus and keylogger.
The same goes to AVG.

I am going to try Kaspersky AV soon.

Am I too paranoid ? wink.gif

Hi
you said NOD32 slows file transfer? Was it very bad? Could it be due to your settings? If you have max settings then generally you can expect slower file transfer esp if you have advanced heuristics turned on. Did you check the optimize scanning box?
