Because it is just slightly expensive if compared to other models at 80+ bronze rated. And modular cables included are flat and black colors that look more clean imo.

the G-550 has highest failure rate among all the seasonic model.
so next time pls try to quote s12 ii 620w or m12 ii 620w if modular. Corsair GS600 / TX650M also can doh.gif

Hi sifus, my friend will be doing his master's in architecture and is planning to get a new rig. He's gotten some quotes from lowyat, and this is the best suggested rig by the sales assistant:

Intel i5-4570
Gigabyte H87-D3H
Kingston 4GB 1333 x2
Xigmatek Tauro 600W
Sapphire 7850 2GB
Seagate 750GB
LG DVD-RW 24x
Cooler Master Elite 311
AOC E2351FH 23in monitor

Total RM2790

Just wondering if the rig is good enough for his needs, and if the hardware is as good as the staff says they are - we're both noobs when it comes to hardware and PSUs.

He can push his max budget to around 2.9-3k. He'll be reusing his peripherals to save up some cash, so the max budget can be used entirely for the rig.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the suggestion rclxms.gif

Can the GPU and Xeon processor also handle games on high settings? There will be some gaming from time to time. The 650 is quite an old card right? I'm completely not familiar with Intel Xeon processors icon_question.gif

Actually dota2 isn't require very high-end spec to max out the settings, even i3 + 7770 is more than enough for 1080p nod.gif .
Anyway can try:

Intel i5 3470 RM559
MSI B75MA-P45 RM229
Kingston 4gb ram RM104
Seagate 1TB HDD RM189
Sapphire 7790 RM449

Any DVD-RW RM59
Any Casing u like RM200
Dell 23" monitor U2312HM led 5yr RM589

Reserve RM1000 for Speaker, Mouse+Keyboard, Mouse pad.

What kind of games are you referring?

TBH it should able to play with all games, but definitely not high settings for demanding games.

Xeon is the best solution for your budget, likely an i7 performance, just slightly slower if put into comparison.

hi sifus , need some advise here on the stuff I need for a new rig.

[Budget] rm 1500 max , hope to get lower than that

[Purpose] normal surf web, movies . Games : FIFA, I hope to occasionally play some big titles like d ones I played : bio shock infinite , tomb raider , skyrim , etc.

[Hardware that will be reuse from old ] take it as a no for now.

[Monitor resolution] dell 23" 1920 1080

[Game or software that use frequently] game : FIFA .

[Personal Preference Brand] non

[Location] KL

I was hoping to put in a SSD by sacrificing on GC , I dun mind having like 100gb disc space coz i m living with 80gb previously. My year 2008 rig just kinda die on me just now, I dunno wat part can be salvaged or i should just trade in d whole thing.

I m using a radeon 5650 year 2009 and I still managed to play the titles above mentioned, so I hope d GC i get within budget can still play some future games. I m no more a hardcore gamer, just don't wanna miss some good/big titles smile.gif

Thanks all for your kind advise. I need a guide list to give me some directions.

I would like to pump more money in my graphic card (Coz in future may play other game that need better graphic card). The monitor is ok, and the budget for speaker should be around RM300 + normal keyboard + mouse. Any better recommendation?
