can you guys give opinion on this build. mostly for gaming and video editing. is the power supply enough? my budget is around rm5k

Intel i5 4670K RM729
Asus Maximus VI Gene RM789
MSI GTX 770 Lightning RM1849
G.Skill RipJawx 8gb 1866 RM249

Seasonic X650 RM449
Corsair 350D RM359

The power supply is sufficient.
Mobo is pretty expensive pick imo, if not really into overclocking the budget cut from mobo can get an i7.

QUOTE(duh2k @ Jun 7 2013, 04:35 PM)
Hey everyone, I'm planning to upgrade to a i5-4570.  Can I get an opinion between these 2 motherboards?

MSI B85M-E33
ASRock B85M-HDS

I'm not planning to do any OC, so I'd appreciate any feedback and other recommendations.  Many thanks smile.gif
*
Basically both mobo are using same B85 chipset, so not much different in features. Either one of them are good for your usage.
Mind if I ask you try to upgrade from what cpu to haswell ? If Ivy to Haswell aren't that worth since the performance difference isn't much.

What is the difference between MSI B75MA-P45 and H61M-P31 MB?
Do I need to take different PSU if I took Radeon HD 7850?
*
Basically they are different chipset, but both supports socket 1155 processor. Do check the official web for more details between them.
FSP Hexa 500W is sufficient.
QUOTE(hakim.hassan @ Jun 8 2013, 04:26 PM)
So, 4GB RAM is already enough for casual/standard gaming right?

I just found out that someone want to let go his Radeon HD 5870 for RM450 firm.... which one is better ?
Radeon HD 5870 or HD 7790?
*
Performance between them are just similar, so why pay for a used card that is same price as a new one?
You can compare them at your own by following the links below:

Interested with this build since i can afford just up to this price. Never been building own rig. Maybe will try to build one and hopefully won't fail. Is there any tutorial on how to build the rig? Is there any store/mall that mentioned does delivery? Ayam staying in Sarawak, Miri.
*
Seller like lingloong, idealtech, apes do provide shipping with rig built, but it is better to check local shop price as comparisons first to see if it is a good deal by shipping rig/hardware from west malaysia to sarawak.
You can check a miri shop name VS Technology in facebook, ask for price quote.

Hey guys, sorry might be out of the topic question but still relevant. How would you know if games would actually suffer on a specific graphic card at a specific setting? What parameter are we actually looking at that determines this?
*
The most obvious characteristics is u will feel lag in-game. With some delays maybe and u can feel it is unplayable.
For measurements we often refer to fps, with average of stable 30fps is considered as playable rate. 60fps is the target for smooth gameplay.

what are the different of Z87 and H87?
*
Different in features & functions.
For more details, take your time google out the models u want to compare.
Even 16gb ram is very much over kill for gaming, unless u are doing some video rendering or other programs that require such high capacity of ram.

ok thx all~
so I'll get 8GB value ram then...

btw, anymore mobo and PSU can recommend for me?
550W is enough? I tot need 650?

I went lowyat yesterday, the C-zone guy say atleast need 850W  rclxub.gif
*
No ones will stop as long as your budget allows, we suggest anything u need. From looking good or best bang of bucks depend on personal preference. Mobo brand doesn't matter much, as long as it suits your needs.

Value ram u may try G Skill, it comes with black pcb if not mistaken.
For most single GPU setup, True power 550W psu is more than enough.
Salesman dunno anything, just ignore them. You only need 750 or 850W if u intend to do multiple gpu setup or using components that require such power.

Yup, Johor area hard to find parts... cry.gif

Perhaps he did a typo, MSI B85M i suppose. Price only slightly higher than B75 if not mistaken.

Try

Intel i5 3470 RM559
MSI B75MA-P45 RM229
Kingston 8gb ram RM179
WD Blue 1TB RM199
Total RM1166

**Some budget cut can allow an i5 to fit in your budget.
Asus mobo just over priced, unless u really need thos features from Z77 mobo.
Performance ram doesn't improve gaming/real life performance by much and the difference compared to a value ram is just negligible.
Stock Cooler is good enough to handle your usage, unless the cooler is faulty and noisy then u may consider a better one later.

10s for ur advice, i dun think i need those features...just feel that it look nice  sweat.gif

MSI mobo reliable? never try it b4 but look like most of the posts here are recommending Asrock/ MSI.
*
Yup it is reliable, mostly recommend asrock/msi because of lower price tag as compared to asus brand with same chipset&feature.

Slightly, but maybe some components may just the same/lower price. No ones know exactly till u ask the seller.

Intel I5 4670 RM669
Asrock H87 Performance RM375 (or others?)
Sapphire 7870 xt RM769
G.Skill PC3-12800 DDr3 1600mhz 4GB X2 RM198

Seasonic S12II 620w RM299 (Can it support Haswell?)
Aerocool X-Predator White RM175

Looks good overall.
If don't need extra features from H87 mobo, u may consider B85 that offer slightly cheaper price. Other than that mostly depends on personal preference.
Seasonic S12II 620w can support haswell.
