Hi guys, i decided to cut my budget by select cheaper price of PSU, my CPU is i5 3570 and GPU is sapphire HD7970 Ghz edition vapor -X , but can i choose Corsair CX series [650W=RM155] or [750W=RM195] ????? The price is much cheaper compare with others brand and series, i doubt the quality though......

Oh ya , can CM elite 431 casing fit in my GPU ? as i know, my GPU is quite big in size 185mm if i m not mistaken, thank you
*
Its the builder series, one of the lower class PSU from corsair, but the quality still at least something that u can trust.
Again, not a first time see ppl keep skim on PSU. You got almost everything the best of the best, yet not willing to spend little more for better ones. 650W and 750W CX series is ok as long as u can find it cheap.

•Hi all master Sifu's here . This will be my first gaming RiG in a L0o0o0o0ong time (movin from ps3,xbox ) and would appreciate it very much if i can get some constructive feedback/criticism on the below quotation . It's mainly for GAMING & playing HD movies on a 46" Tv which i already have , so it's my first time using a "TV-Screen" as opposed to a PC screen. MY budget was around RM4k , perhaps 5k if justifiable . I'm also really confused if i should go I5-3570k or I7 3770k . Below is a quote i got from a certain company . Appreciate ALL HELP thanks.. cry.gif  rclxub.gif

Intel Core I7 3770 RM890

The build looks good overall, go for the processor with a 'K' if u intend to overclock it.
Haswell is coming soon, you can wait and see if you arent rush.

Anything is Possible.
QUOTE
Intel Celeron G465 RM114
ASROCK H61M RM139
Corsair 2gb value ram RM54
Seagate 160gb RM109
Cap ayam PSU RM50
No DVD-RW
Casing Gigabyte GZ series RM69

Total RM535

But pls dun tell me u are serious about a download rig with a spec as stated.
A cap ayam PSU definitely not recommended.
A download rig often kills a HDD fast since it most likely operate 24/7. So a better HDD grade will be recommended, but cost slightly more expensive.

cap ayam PSU definitely going to cost these long hours of downloading + not to say the risk to the HDD as well.

still, good enough for spare rig  laugh.gif

Depends, hardcore download geek may open the download client like non-stop.
Personally just set the schedule start after midnight and stop at morning 8am.

QUOTE(Earendil @ May 27 2013, 10:01 PM)
Hi all! I need a recommendation based on the following:

[Budget] Around RM1.5k

[Purpose] Gaming

[Hardware that will be reuse from old rig] None

[Monitor resolution] 1920x1080

[Game or software that use frequently] Newest games at medium-high settings perhaps, if possible.

[Personal Preference Brand] None
*
Try

Intel duo core G2020 RM169
MSI H61M-P31 RM155
Kingston 4gb ram RM94
Seagate 500gb HDD RM159
Sapphire 7750 1gb ddr5 RM299
FSP Hexa 500W RM150
LG 22" monitor IPS224T RM419
Gigabyte GZ Seres casing RM69

Total RM1514

**not possible to achieve high setting for some latest games, as they more and more graphic demanding as well as cpu power.

No experience with aoc monitor.
Most local shops in Sarawak didnt carry msi products, except miri side if not mistaken.
Wonder why AMD build, Intel build is outperform AMD in terms of gaming.

hmm...actually i was comparing between i5 3570k + AsRock Z77 Extreme 3 and fx8350 + AsRock 990FX

intel set here costs rm1130 and amd set costs rm1030...tho amd consumes more power right? unsure.gif

and also amd is better with multi tasking? unsure.gif

im still not 100% certain...
*
Most processors nowadays are capable of multi-tasking, just depends on how heavy on personal usage.
You only may benefit from the extra cores from amd fx8350 if your programs need more processing power/speed.
When comes to gaming, both OC'ed i5 3570k vs FX8350. i5 stands most win in gaming performance.

However, AMD do offer slightly cheaper because of the mobo price. But, amd mobo doesnt support latest pcie 3.0 that may benefit in future. And amd mobo needs at least dual slot x16 mode pciex16 slots for better multi-gpu scaling.

hmm...if i go for the 3570k, what mobo should i pair it with? z77 extreme 3 or extreme 4?

Both of them support sli and cfx.
2 x PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots (PCIE2/PCIE3: single at x16 (PCIE2) / x8 (PCIE3) or dual at x8/x8 mode)
http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z77%20Extre...=Specifications

Extreme4 looks nicer and offer 2 more sata ports. For more details for the difference between u can take your time to figure out.

from what i see, msi mobos having similar specs are cheaper right? is the asrock z77 extreme 3 is in the same group as the cheaper msi z77-g43? unsure.gif  unsure.gif
*
It is very obvious no if u really did google and check the spec to compare.
This is MSI Z77 G43

Ok, enough of spoon feed, pls use google to check them by yourself. It is your responsibility to do survey instead of me.

doh.gif You don't simply spend more money for 750W and above, its just a suggestion in case if u really tend to do that setup like a few weeks or 1~2 months later on.
If you have no idea on how to do it, just use single gpu solution for less problem and stick to your current spec will be fine.

IMO,Haswell's only good for fresh build.IB & SB users can stick to their setup ATM..

Haswell processor is slightly expensive like RM50 each.
The problem is mobo models not much available yet and all price very high.
C-Zone just released their latest price list with haswell update, can try check.
