Ugh UPS delayed my shipment. It just says "delivery date rescheduled" It already passed customs and supposed to arrive today, so not sure what's going on.

My Quest 2 and Elite Strap arrived. Can confirm VR Optician prescription lens fits. Pensuke

Clear upgrade from Quest 1 in terms of screen resolution. Everything is so smooth and snappy, and amazing visuals.

Don't like the new controller yet. Feels awkward to hold.

Annnnd my Beat Saber auto updated and all mods are broken now. Damn it

The black levels compared to Quest 1 is really worse.. but the increased resolution + close to 0 SDE makes complex scenes sooo much better, its not even comparable.

Now to wait for the 90hz Oculus Link and high bandwidth/resolution update.

Nice, gonna go to optometrist on monday to check my eye and then order a pair.

Bought virtual desktop on oculus store and enabled the dev mode with sidequest. It's wild that you can play PCVR games wirelessly.

I bought 3rd party cable and it works for the oculus link, but the charging speed is a lot slower compared to the short cable that came in the box that the battery dies even when plugged in when in use. I guess I'm gonna buy the official 5m link cable as well.

which 3rd party cable u bought?

if it's USB-C to USB-A for sure it won't charge cuz PC USB-A output only max 0.9A.

If your PC has USB-C port, there's also 3rd party C-C link cable that works and charge the same as the official cable, at a fraction of the price

how's the pressure of the headset?
any discomfort after long hours of play?

With elite strap, It's better than the Quest . But I prefer the foam cushion facial interface of original quest.

With default strap, it's not that bad actually, but the default foam cushion is hard and not so comfortable.

Will probably get the VR cover when it's available on Amazon. Or 3rd party ones

If wearing glasses instead of contact lens/vr prescription lens attachment, useful to use this to protect lens from touching glasses and getting scratches.

Anyone bought the Elite Strap? Highly recommended over the standard strap.

Although I think the standard soft strap is not bad at all, was in VR for about 2 hours and no discomfort or pressure on my face. But, this Elite strap is like night and day difference. Feel very well built with better weight distribution. It cups the back of my head nicely for a secure fit and also very easy and quick to tighten or loosen the strap using the dial at the back.

I have it but it still feels unsecure on the back of my head. The front heavy weight is making my head hurt. Any tips to make it tighter to cup my head more?

Edit: solved the issue by adjusting the top strap. It's perfect now. 100x better than Quest strap

Yeah top strap is the key. Need to adjust the front and raise it abit so it's just lightly touching your cheeks. And tightening the top strap so it doesn't sag down.

C to C will be able to charge the Quest 2 while using at a rate much faster than C - A.

Using C - A cable u can get about 2-3 hours of play from 100% battery to empty.

Using C - C cable u can get about 6-7 hours of play (estimated based on testing result of 1% battery depletion rate every +/- 4 mins)

I saw a lot of report of crack issues with the elite strap on reddit lately, so I decided to cancel my order on one of those. But mostly because I don't feel any discomfort with the regular strap at all. smile.gif

Have been using virtual desktop streamer with sidequest to play pcvr games and the only issue for me is the 1-2 second lag of mic input through VD in multiplayer. But easily overcome with wired/wireless headset.

Just tried Oculus Link beta update that pushes the bitrate to 500mbps. No difference in latency and everything looks crystal clear now. Amazing.

Will record some beat saber videos at expert+ using this.

Virtual Desktop is no way near viable for serious Beat Saber gameplay. Circlejerk in Reddit is very annoying to see people saying VD is on par with Link in terms of latency, and showing Beat Saber default maps at Expert mode thinking it means anything lol

Just got my quest 2, it seems the resellers ordered mine from Amazon Japan as well. Got some free stuff too. Controller strap and lens cover.

This is my first vr, my only issue is that I can still see some opening at the nose rest area, a bit distracted when looking down.
