i just got my Quest 2 from Amazon JP.
surprisingly the order came early. I've expected end of Nov as initially stated on their website.

special thanks to liquidsny for the help and info esp on the ordering part

i'm a first time VR user and my initial experience is more comfortable than expected.
i'm wearing glasses.

i linked it to my personal fb acc to avoid any issues in terms of authentication.

there is a gap at the lower nose area.
when there is bright light outside, it might be distracting when looking downwards.
other than that, i think it's seems good.

For those that bought their unit from JP amazon, is the device setup in Japanese or English?

i believe it was in English.
i don't recall having to go through a language setup screen.

however, the manual/instruction booklet that comes with the box is in JP

Thanks for the reply. US quest 2 is sold out until end of the year while JP still available. Might be getting another unit for Xmas present which is why I asked

Just received the VRCover winter edition for Quest 2.

First impressions: really comfortable and soft. Its like a high quality pillow and I get the hype for it now. The thin foam version gets better FOV than stock. Impressive but not sure if it would be comfortable for long sessions. The thick version is even softer and more comfortable.

I was about to get VRcover too, but too bad winter version already sold. Only left standard version...

Btw, it take how long to reach your doorstep? and how much after currency conversion?

About 3 weeks. About rm170 incl shipping. Expensive, but all VR accessories are expensive when converted.

The problem with VRcover is the PU leather, it's not sweat absorbent so it'll get hot if you don't have air cond or fan blowing direct to your body/face, especially for exercise and workout games like Beat Saber

Nope, no SIRIM needed. YMMV though.

Need some info about the connectivity. My PC doesn't have USB-C. Can I still play PC games with the Quest 2 with USB-A 3.2 connection? I wanted to play flight simulator with it.

both C-C and C-A cable works, only difference is, USB C port higher output voltage, so Quest 2 battery drop significantly slower.

Based on test,
AMVR 5m USB-C to USB-A cable - Quest 2 only last about 2-3 hours of continuous play
OEM 5m USB-C to USB-C cable - Quest 2 estimated to last 6-7 hours of continuous play, actual may be more as I doubt many will wear (display on) for 6-7 hours straight
Official Oculus Link 5m USB-C to USB-C cable - same result as the OEM one.

Best standalone VR (don't need PC to play) : Oculus Quest 2
Best VR for high resolution and sharp display : Reverb G2
Best VR for widest Field of View (widescreen) : Pimax Models
Best VR for low latency accurate controller tracking : Valve Index / Pimax models, or any base station tracked VR
Want combination of accurate base station tracked VR, higher than average field of view, good display resolution, great audio, great mic : Valve Index
Want cheap and affordable VR : Oculus Quest 2
Want high resolution as well as widescreen field of view : Pimax 8K X

PM me your whatasapp contact pls smile.gif

Different VR different size and different facial interface width, example Oculus Quest 2 size quite small so some ppl specs too big can't fit inside.

If specs too big can't fit inside, OR if wear specs not comfortable to play, OR scared your specs scratch the VR lens, normally will advise to order this custom made prescription lens inserts, once installed this, don't need to wear spec to play VR anymore.

Just get a Quest 2 and call it a day. Superior tracking and it supports both standalone and PC VR gaming.

Other VR headsets are all incredibly expensive in Malaysia and even in retail US price, it doesn't make sense to get others unless you are a niche gamer with specific preference and lots of money to spare

How much thicker/heavier is the OEM 5m C to C cable you sell compared with official oculus link? My 3m cable wearing out and I'm looking for something longer

Looking into getting one. Official cable is too expensive.
