Posting this from Intercon Bali now. My 4th day here. Been a wonderful experience. Not every shops are open at this time of year, even in Kuta and Ubud because of Kuningan. I spent my first 2 days in Poppies Lane 1, Kuta. Most of the 5 star hotels are fully booked.

Connection ain't that fast here but however, just showing you guys the sunset in Jimbaran. Will post more later on. Till then.

Yes..

I used the hotel room tel..no charge for calling fixed line.
So, I assume the charges must be nominal ( but am still surprised hotel dont charge!)
reception advised me to use the public phone (there's one in my hotel lobby) to call h/p as it's cheaper.

cool ... thanks for the info ... will take note of that ... i still haven't book the hotel yet ...
let me do it now before i start my busy working life again tomorrow morning.

Anyway, there are couple of things that I want to share with the fellow forumers here. Just came back after a week in Bali. Was staying in Kuta and Jimbaran. Its the peak season now.

Anyway for starters, do not take a taxi from the airport. Its a rip off. But most people would take it because its dominated by one party. What you can do is to go to the Mc D near departure and call for any cab. Blue Bird or anything.

Blue Bird number- 70 1111

There is no extra charges. But minimum charge is 10k . To Kuta it would take about 15-20k. If airport taxi is 40-45k. You would save about 20k.

And whenever you are traveling nearby. For example from Kuta to Jimbaran, with meter about 45k. Ask them for non meter price. Doesn't work with Blue Bird because Blue Bird taxi's meter is connected to the computer in the company.

Take any other company and ask them for non meter price. There you can save quite some sum. And getting a car per day would cost about 180-250k depending on distance.

My driver is a local taxi driver but I really enjoyed his company. Very nice guy. He brought us to places not that famous with tourist. We had extremely nice ayam bakar somewhere in the outskirts of Kuta. And we have turtle sate as well. No its not endangered over there. They breed it. Good day guys.

went to bali or the third time last may. stayed in all seasons hotel which is nice. have to walk abit to go to the beach though.

anyway. here's a tips for those who wanted to jalan2 around kuta but to lazy to walk. rent a bike/scooter. they cost about rm15 a day. don't worry about the police, u r ok as long as u have the helmet on and follow the road sign. don't langgar the traffic light either.. bali ain't KL. hehe.

wanted to buy cheap surfing brand stuff... go on pusing2 outside kuta abit. u'll find warehouse store selling last-season stuff (last season stuff overthere meaning this season punya in KL). they usually have crazy sale up to 70%.

original surely.. well, i damn hope so sweat.gif biggrin.gif its a factory outlet for last season stuff

For Quiksilver n Roxy.. not exactly sure where it is but along the way to Denpasar I believe. There's a mall with local tourist bust station and petrol station nearby. Mooks, Stussy and No Fear are nearby oso.

for reef, its nearby matahari shopping centre.

sorry can't be more specific. u have to look for it though bcoz the road in kuta are totally messed up. try pusing2 with a rental bike. but don't wander around unless u r sure smile.gif

They are original stuffs.

And along Kuta near the pubs and clubs street there are lots of surf shops and at Kuta Square too.

For cheap sale bundle items you have to take a ride out of town to stores like Surfer's Paradise and 1 more I can't remember (It's not exactly cheap but it's lower compared to the stores at Kuta area, and yes they are mostly old season stock).

1st day - depend what time u arrive, if arrive after noon, don't think u have time to have dinner at jimbaran if ur going to tanah lot beforehand

2nd day - a lot of things to do in ubud, i recommend staying overnight there rather than rushing to lovina

3rd day and forth... ur plan is too packed... don't think u have time for kintamani if ur doing stuff in lovina
my suggestion is skip kintamani and drop by at bedugul on the way back from lovina to kuta

I disagree on skipping Kintamani..This is one of the most exiciting place in Bali...Imaginge u'r on top of Volcano rim and overlooking the Batur Volcano from the rim wth Volcan lake beside...This should not be missed!!..Lovina is the one should be miss..too far 7 I dun think the watwer is crystal clear wth its black sand.....Check the Lovina water from Gogle Earth & compare wth Padang Bai or Nusa Dua area..U can get a better quailty water South why go all the way to Lovina..unless for dophin-lah... biggrin.gif

Hi all,
Need you guys feedback if you all have stayed at the following hotel before :
Secret Garden Inn, Hotel Karthi and Puri Garden2.

Initially our plan was to fly there on 2/10 till 6/10. But since the ticket on 2/10 is too expensive, we think that flying a day before (reached there 8pm) will be better as we save from the airfare though spending an extra night. On the first night we will be staying at Secret Garden, then PuriGarden for the next 3 nights then lastly on Karthi.

Anything wrong with this unsure.gif
THanks everyone smile.gif

never stay in secret garden and karthi myself but the design kinda dated like most budget bali hotels does. if u like modern and new design u should try all season hotel in legian. i stay there for 3 days and lovin it. but kinda far away from kuta centre (around 3 km) and a few mins walk to kuta/legian beach.

try directrooms.com to survey for hotel.
