Hi guys, hope you can give some comments on my planned itinerary for honeymoon below after I've compiled some great sharings from you all. I'm not sure if I wanna DIY by hiring a driver or just buy a 4D3N full board tour from Matta Fair. I prefer to stay at Ubud for the kampung feel but it might be too bored because lack of facilities around, I would most probably stay at Kuta or Legian (Adi Dharma or White Rose or All Seasons - pls comment). Appreciates your feedback if my itinerary is a bit pack as I want a relax trip and no rushy one, and hope you guys can recommend me a good driver...

* Does Ibu Oka open for dinner?
* Anyone has tried the flying gurame dinner, how is the taste?

lunch in pacung is similar to kintamani, if possible go to stawberry stop nearby bedugul, nice and cheap food, especially the fresh strawberry juice.

Since Ubu Oka is the best and most authentic place to try Babi Guling safely, you might want to consider taking a day trip to Ubud while trying their babi guling, provided you spend enough days in Bali, of course.

Lunch at Kintamani is actually just so so, but you can have a nice spot overlooking Mount Batur.

We actually hiked all the way up to Mount Batur for the breathtaking sunrise view :-)

Both my trips to Bali were via renting & driving. The cheapest I got was from a car rental on the far right of the Exit of arrival hall ...I did post the name of the car rental but forgotten which post oledi  blush.gif U really hv to bargain kaw-kaw..At the end I got the suzuki jeep for 120,000rupiah/day or about RM45/day

It's very safe driving in Bali. Even on my 1st trip, I was not using any GPS maps at all...The locals are so helpful...I got lost couple of time and once u stop the local, they will direct you especially seeing a Chinese speaking Indon!!  biggrin.gif . Twice I was stopped by Policemen and after noticing me checking the paper maps..he personally ask me to follow him till I reached my destination at Goa Gajah!!  biggrin.gif  rclxms.gif

Those con-men actually not really con-men, They are illegal toll collectors everywhere around Bali traditional villages such as Jimbaran, Benoa, Sanur beach, Kintamani & etc...They will collect ~5000rupiah -10,000rupiah or more for each car passing by their kampungs!!  sad.gif  mad.gif

On my 2nd trip last year, wth the GPS maps on hand...everything was so easy. Just find the location or create a waypoint from Google Earth/wikimapia for those POI not in the maps & just follow the instruction...Very accurate routable maps indeed!!  thumbup.gif ..No need to ask...The GPS maps even lead me to Java Timur, where I took a ferry across the Bali street to Bayu Wangi - Supposely going to Mt Ijen (The famous Sulfure mining volcano) but too bad, I arrived late!  sad.gif

Hi Stimix, how do you convert the google maps coordinate to GPS coordinate?

To answer your query for no 1, yes there is a fee when you leave and it's not included when you buy the tickets. This I didn't know and I barely had enough money to pay so we paid in rupiah for one person and for my hubby, we ended up paying in ringgit @ RM60 which was a total ripoff!!
*
Oh...definitely will be looking out for that one...thx
