Whoaa..Besakith & bck to Ubud is realy far...for sure the driver reluctant.. biggrin.gif ..Anyway Gunung Kawi there is nothing interesting there actually although listed as 2nd most sacred temple in Bali...Bersakith is better but probably due to the distance, the driver reluctant-loh & easy way suggesting easier & nearer loop..rather than huge loop from Kintamani to Bersakith then bck to Ubud.

Although Bersakith is better but beware of the so called "expensive MUST hv porter", umbrella & sarong rental.
*
yeah, i have thru the whole thread. need to to beware of "con men". anyway, i sms wayan, he gave me the same reply as he would prefer to skip besakhi. sweat.gif . another option i could think of is ubud->besakhi->kitamani->tegalalang->tampak siring->ubud. anyway, beside being far from ubub, is there any other thing that causes them not to go?..any taboo?..or too many con men around?..

haha...driving, i was thinking about that. that will be my 2nd option. Just not sure should i drive as i have read that there is kinda alot of con men, where on the road..some joker will tell u ur car got problem. once u stop, he will come and straight do some stuff on ya car and claim got problem and have to tow for repair.

stimix..how safe izzit to drive there? can share some experience?

OMG u really kena slaughtered kaw-kaw at Jimbaran...U probably missed my earlier posting last year regarding Lia Cafe at the end of Jimbaran seafood ctr (The older  stall version) The newer & bungalow style along the Jimbaran Beach till the Kedongan fish market I heard all too new, not nice & cut throat!!

My nice seafood dinner for 3 only cost me RM26 only!!!  thumbup.gif What I did was to check the pricing from stall to stall & suprisingly the prices varies alot!! The most expensive one are those brought in by drivers/tourist agents such as Ramayana & etc...the deeper one biz very bad but damn cheap..and I hit the target..Although regret at first looking at Ramayana wth lotsa customers & KLia cafe only 2-3 tables full, It turned up that that was the best & cheap food i tasted in Bali  thumbup.gif ..no CC & charges just cash as per the receipt below:

p/s: I not dare to say..but I believed the driver hv pakat wth those restaurants for commission and this fact was told to me by Lia Cafe boss & also the staff at my hotel...when I ask for suggestion...They warned me about Ramayana & those newer bungalow style restaurants along the beach...So those going to Jimbaran seafood be warned...dun listen to the driver!!..No wonder the driver so cheap  shocking.gif
*
stimix..can you plot the lia's cafe in wikimapia.org?...i just came back from bali and i can't find the place...Thanks

the blue taxi is called BLUEBIRD.. when i went to jakarta, thats the only guys who charge according to meter and fairly... beware in indo everyone will try to screw u.. its like chow kit on a grand scale!
*
here is how the bluebird taxi looks like..and this is how Wayan looks like. Wayan doesn't know where is Lia's Cafe, so yo u guys better do ya research on the location. One more thing, make sure wayan drives u on all the days. I did have a slight bad experience, coz Wayan said he was not free, so ge have to pass to his friend to guide us around..his friend $ucks.

U probably missed my earlier posting of the recipt from Lia's Cafe & other surrounding restaurants.. biggrin.gif ...They are not really famous but I think one of the cheapest seafood stalls around that complex...Imagine my dinner for 3 wth Sotong, fish, lala, kankung, potatoes  only cost me RM25!! Otherwise those broghjt by their drivers (Even by wayan & etc) got chop-off kaw-kaw...& the quality of the food in Lia's is the best so far.. rclxms.gif

*
when i went i ...i tot wayan oredi know the place..but too bad he didn't. for those that wanted to go to this cafe..write down the address and phone number...if your driver dunno how to go, pass the number to the driver

No need. I was informed & told that M'sian license are valid throughtout ASEAN countries (Not sure those left hand drive such as Vietnam & Philippines)
I rented & drove in Bali & Thailand b4...not a problem & even stopped by Balinese policemen....just show him the rental documents, your license& pastport

Added on November 27, 2008, 12:02 amProbably so but Lia's cafe is located on the same row as the famous Ramayana...probably can tell him to drive till the end of Jimbaran beach because the seafood complex is located at a dead end road.
*
that night, wayan didn;t drove us..but his friend did, i ask him to drive down..but he kept insisted that there is no more stalls further down..so it was my mistake..
