Conrad is located here:

http://wikimapia.org/#lat=-8.7807944&lon=1...=15&l=0&m=s&v=9

It's not near Westin but located at Tg Benoa. Far from happening Kuta but near to Nusa Dua which is not happening at all!..These areas are full of 4-5stars resorts. There is only 1 shopping Mall near Kuta beach. Nothing interesting there & further North near the end of Tg Benoa is the One stop ctr to those islands..such as penida & Limbongan

Here is a zoom-down GPS maps from navigasi.net showing few of the major Hotels along Tg Benoa, Nusa Dua & comapre the distance to the airport & Kuta - Discovery Mall & Hardrock...it's far hor.. smile.gif

user posted image

@jojo_g2...Seldom check navigasi till the latest maps posted in malfreemaps...watch out...malfreemaps & the indonesian maps probably JV soon smile.gif

@Others..BVVARY rsort is super far from any kampungs near to Uluwatu but very scenic...& Yes probably the 2nd most expensive after 4season liao..I dream of this few resort too sad.gif plus...Ritz carton, Nikko, Four Season cry.gif

Planning to go Bali this January 2010, n probably staying at Villa Diana (Flight + Hotel Air Asia). Got few questions here, redundant maybe:

1. Bali airport tax, didn't it included when we pay to AirAsia?
2. Does taxi rate would double if my flight arrive at 8pm? or would be the same (as mentioned in the 1st page by TS) irregardless what time even early in the morning 6am?
*
A1 : the tax when u pay for Air Asia ticket is Malaysia airport tax...during coming back u need to pay for RP 150,000 per person at Denpasar airport

A2 : normally the rate should be nomal rate around ...but not so sure if they already change it...they normally charge midnight surcharge from 12 midnight till 6am...

The MUST-VISIT place is included in the full board tour already (ULUWATU,KINTAMANI,BEDUGUL,JIMBARAN, UBUD). What can I do for the next 2.5 days extra?

Below are the things that I can think of
1. Bebek Bengil
2. Sukamani
3. Bali Marine Walk
4. Spa (Ubud / kuta better?)

Any other opinions?
*
my suggestion go for Tanah Lot & also Mount Agung...nice place...bebek bengil is famous crispy duck restaurant in Ubud which u can go while u go to Ubud...

Sukawati is Art Market almost like Ubud...

Bali Marine Park also ok...

Spa? whistling.gif ...i think Ubud... tongue.gif

I've decided to cancel Bali trip this December due to 'Sweeping Malaysians' rhetoric and anti-Malaysians sentiments still going on in Indonesia. Until they learn that we are not their enemy, not only I'm going not to spend a single dime in Indonesia, I won't risk my family life or being subjected to harassment by some uneducated Indonesians. sad.gif

Hi, I've seen some recommended Aston Bali here. Got into Aston website but there's a few Astons in Bali. So I'm wonering which one have the best location in terms of shorter distance to beach and accessibility to eateries and shops? Still not sure which beach area I'm going for.

Conrad is at tg Benoa not nusa Dua. There is no real shopping in Nusa Dua, a small Kampungs wth only 1-2 rows of stalls..here: http://wikimapia.org/#lat=-8.805838&lon=11...=16&l=0&m=s&v=9 The beach at Nusa Dua dotted wth 4-5stars resorts. & no real town in Nusa Dua..just village near the junction towards Uluwatu.

______
Opss forgotten to add.. There is a tourist 1 storey Mall fronting the nusa Dua beach..Very long complex or about 500M long - Bali collection. You can view this complex 9yes not cheap) here:

Thanks stimix for the links. In that case, I think I'll settle for Kuta cause it's more happening, maybe like Patong Phuket? BTW is it recommendable to change hotels (of 2 different places) for Bali trip? We're tihinking to stay at Ubud (Tegal Sari) for 2 nights and 4 nights in Kuta. We wonder if there's any hotel at the beachside that will range like USD100 or below per night? Mercure is offering around USD80-90.

Yeah Kuta much more happening & lotsa bars/pubs there...but it's not relaxing. those in tg Benoa & Nusa Dua are relaxing.

I dun switch hotels previously but it's a good idea actually..

Stay in Nusa Dua if you want a quiet romantic time with your other half. It's much more less crowded compared to Kuta and there's just something about Nusa Dua that's really romantic. I stayed at Club Bali Mirage which was pretty decent.

But I do warn you tho, if you're into clubbing then this place does not have a single happening club. You'll have to to take a metered cab into Kuta which will cost you approx RM20 EACH trip.

There's a free shuttle bus that will take you to the nearest mall called Bali Collection in Nusa Dua. It's not that expensive, eating for two in Nusa Dua area will cost you approx RM30 for two people or even less, depending what you have. There are really affordable spas too.
